I'm still sitting on all my credits from the LAST credit sale and here we have another, can we please have an artifact sale so those of us waiting about can use them? (them being our stashed away credits)
Richter2005-07-27 09:32:02
I was hoping they'd have a 25% credit -and- artifact sale when we hit the year mark.
But we could stand to have one now as well.

What's the difference between an artifact sale and a credit sale? In effect, a 20% credit bonus is exactly the same as a substantial discount on artifacts, but better, since it affects everything. You're just looking for a double discount

Exactly, a common thing to do actually.
Ethelon2005-07-27 12:50:44
No, some of us have been sitting on credits for months now waiting for new artifacts or lower prices. What need do I have for buying more credits when I can't even use the ones I have?
Taika2005-07-27 12:52:58
From the last credit sale, where you got them for a discount....
IRE is a company. They aren't gunna mark down arties+credits entirely.

5000 credits with a 20% bonus will buy you less than 5000 credits with all artifacts costing 20% less.
Taika2005-07-27 13:06:41
And you would get more artifacts with artifacts costing 20% less AND a 20% credit bonus. Which is what Ethelon is asking for.

For me, the difference between an artifact and credit sale is that I buy all my credits in the game and not for real money, so I benefit not at all from the credit sale. I believe in spending my credits on lessons first anyway, but I did buy the fesix backpack during that first artifact sale because I didn't like my pack decaying every few weeks.
Sylphas2005-07-27 13:48:18
I'm sure you can sit on those credits until an artifact sale and get something like a 40-50% discount, but blatantly asking for something like that just seems like really bad taste.

If you buy all of your credits in game (Essentially stating that you do not help support the financials of the game one bit), why should they then bend over backwards to accommodate you with an artifact sale? I am just pointing out that your argument is not one that would encourage a profit maximizing company have an artifact sale.
Aleron2005-07-28 00:22:31
However, if no one is buying credits IG, then people aren't going to buy them OOC to sell them.. so.. technically, he -is- supporting the financials of the game by giving the OOC buyers/IC sellers a reason to buy OOCly in the first place

It is a trickle down effect that has less impact on the financials of the company than direct payments. A credit sale is a direct encouragement to the consumer to increase the cashflow of the company via OOC credit purchases. Artifact sales, while still partially serving the same function, will not directly increase the OOC demand for credits. It will work on the OOC demand of credits via the IC demand of artifact items by OOC credit purchasers. In order to make an artifact sale more effective in increasing revenues, I would say that Lusternia would need to increase its selection of artifact items.
Ok, enough of my Thread-Hijack.
Taika2005-07-28 01:06:20
But artifacts arent the only thing credits are spent on IG.
Ethelon2005-07-28 03:23:38
Taika, I don't care about the current Credit Sale, I was just pointing out an arti sale would be nice, I didn't mean both at once. The Credits I have I've earned both IC and through buying and considering I have all my skills I want all that's left is arties, but none I really care for, IE if an arti-sale happened I'd be more inclined to purchase something. I'd love to see new arties come out but I know that probally won't happen for awhile still.
Unknown2005-07-29 15:21:51
IRE could care less if you spend your credits, they just care that you buy them in the first place, what happens to them at that point doesn't matter, since they already have your money.
