One major conflict that I have had is that Shops don't buy used goods. Thus, the only way you can get rid of that ratty old gear is to sell via Market. However, the problem being that only level 11+ players can use the market channel. Further, no one seems to want to buy used goods. So, I propose a new feature, rather than a skill. Let's examine the idea through a scenario.

You say, "I've got some old equiptment for sale. Newer player level. Cheap. Blah blah blah.

You hear crickets chirp.

Joe Schmoe says, "Get lost loser."

You cry because you spent thousands buying equiptment you did not need a few hours of gameplay later.

You stroke you chin thoughtfully, asking yourself, "What can I do???"

Absolutely nothing! You can either pawn it off on a newbie for free or drop your equiptment. This absolutely bites. I say there need to be a change to this. Shops should automatically buy used goods--obviously for a lower price than sold for--when the owner comes in he/she can disassemble the item returning it to the raw minerals--again, obviously slightly less than what is used for new products--but here is where it benefits everyone. You don't lose sovereigns on buying equiptment that you might advance beyond very quickly and shops can buy commodities for a price lower than average. Rightfully, selling recycled goods using the previously used goods plus a few newer parts to complete the item at a refurbished rate. Obviously, it would be a more difficult idea to implement, at least for me it would be, but I'm sure the masters at IRE could handle it. I don't know, this just seems like an idea that would improve the environment to me. I just know I abhor buying goods that I know no one will buy later. While it is nice to pass it on to a novice who will need it more than I do, I just hate waste.

Um, this isn't one of those progressive muds where you keep getting better and better equipment. The equipment you have a novice is usually the equipment you'll use as a full member. Some exceptions may be wiccans and druids getting greatrobes or a warrior getting fullplate. In either scenario, your old armor can be donated to a novice for a good cause or possibly even resold. I know I sold a leather set to a guildmate once for cheap.

You usually get free swords in warrior guilds, at novice level, which you return at the end of novicehood when you buy better equipment.

It seems like, if you had played Lusternia for a bit, you would know this idea is entirely uneeded... if you think it is, what stuff do you have that you want to get rid of?

1. This would not work because shops are player run. And they don't want to lose gold buying your old stuff.

2. Just have a forger smelt your armor and weapons down, then sell the commodities.

I used tp have old equiptment, but I gave it all away. Dunno, maybe I just a dunce.
