I figured out today that you can sit on a chair, start writing at a desk... then someone else can come along, sit in the same chair, and write at the desk... When you stop writing, you appear in the chair, even if someone else is sitting in it.... So, in theory, any number of people can sit in the chair and write at the desk, not just one at a time, and you can get fifty people in one chair. I think this is a little silly
Is it too difficult to have the chair be occupied if it is in use? Maybe when you go into the room, you see the person there, writing at the desk so intently they are ignoring all that occurs around them, or something? Make them only appear to be there, but not actually be there?

Or maybe you could shove them aside and sit on the chair partially or even sit on their lap.
But yeah, make the other people find another desk!

But then you'll get the occasional knob face sitting in a chair just to piss people off.

*nods to Quidgyboo* Exactly, and on top of that you don't want a line of people at a single desk waiting to write. That's just idiotic.

What's the likelihood that five people will all want to write a letter?
And even so, there are many desks scattered around a city/commune. At the moment, I know of two desks in the Moondancer guildhall, one in the Serenwilde commune proper, and one in the Serenguard guildhall.
But as for people sitting down on the chairs with the desk maybe make the emote "shove" actually push them out of the chair?

I needs to look at getting furniture in our guildhall. Along with more rooms, maybe some of them even inside.

The Lodge actually has four, but none of them are in the publicly accessible part.

Then the people they're pissing off kill them?

I think this is just another 'Game mechanics > Realism' situation. Not being able to write because someone else is already there would be annoying and stupid.

I like the shove emote. Lets you remove someone from sitting on something and makes them prone on the ground.
Shove -> enemy -> trample
Multiple people writing at a desk isn't very realistic, true. But neither is -having- to use a desk!
I bet They leave it be, it doesn't seem to be a big problem.
