You twist and turn as you attempt to escape from your entanglement.
1886h, 3975m, 4200e, 10p, 12025en, 18736w elrxp-
You feel yourself compelled to leave the room, beckoned by the will of a
hideous archdemon.
A garden of hanging flowers.
A hanging garden area fragrances the air with the delicious scent of random
blossoms which seem to eternally flower. The multitude of scents is a heady
intoxication that wafts into the nearby rooms but keeps the area well travelled
as several citizens and visitors alike drift by on their way within the housing
district. Several wind chimes also shiver with a sonorous melody that peals
throughout the atmosphere with a song that must surely be heaven sent. Standing
as still as death, the Nil Grim Horror's very presence here fills the room with
despair. A huge archdemon looms here, surrounded by black mist. Alger, Thorn of
the Amaranth is here. He wields a baleful rapier of darkened steel in each
hand. Eiru is here, shrouded. He wields an iron shield in his left hand.
You see exits leading south and northwest.

1886h, 3915m, 4200e, 10p, 12025en, 18724w elrxp-
With his deadly tail, Eiru strikes out at you and stings you.
The sounds around you fade gradually into absolute silence.
1886h, 3915m, 4200e, 10p, 12025en, 18724w elrxdp-
You have writhed free of your entanglement.
Note the Prone, Entangled, and yet... I am still somehow able to leave the room due to beckon. From what I was hearing, it was going through blockers as well.

Oh Gregori,
I was beckoned through an icewall with two broken legs while paralyzed. Nothing stops beckon...
To make matters worse, if beckon fails (because it now checks summoning resistances), you can beckon again immediately because there is no loss of equilibrium or balance.
Torak tried to beckon me 7 times in a row. 6 failed, 1 worked. They all happened in about 1.5 seconds.

Beckon isn't like in the other IRE games here. In Lusternia it works like summon, except the range is 1 room and monolith doesn't stop it.
Eiru2005-08-02 17:05:45
Please, I don't mind a valid argument, but get your facts straight.
You can't keep beckoning repeatedly, because if you TARGET beckon, shield will stop it.
Now if you just use a ROOM beckon, it's not stopped, but it can be resisted, so if you resist it, the one beckoning needs to regain equilibrium to do it again, and honestly, beckon is resisted, a lot, isn't that your argument for wisp? Which goes through even if the wisper is standing on a monolith?
So no, Narsrim, you can't be beckoned over and over again if you resist, because then all you have to do is shield, since only room beckon, which uses equilibrium, will go through it.
And you can only room beckon people on your enemy list.
I'm all for having it "fixed". If it is not the way it is intended to be.

Room beckon, then, can beckon, tops, 30 people, unblockable, no double-block, no shield, no sit, no nothing. Except it might be resisted (which I've yet to see done, although in your defense, we're a bunch of faelings running around). Does Beckon cost power? 3, right? Or 5?
Eiru2005-08-02 17:11:23
Hey, wait, what's the range limit on it? Oh yeah, one room?
I think so.

It can be done on any terrain, unlike wisp, which can be removed by any fresh-out-of-novicehood geomancer.
Eiru2005-08-02 17:30:13
Which I have just ran out of recently, and thus can't have one attached to my hip .
Also, consider this, and it has been done, and is done; people sitting at a monolith, spamming wisp, waiting for their target to enter the forest and wisp them before the resident geomancer can taint.
Any terrain, yes, for a maximum range of one room, and can't be done between territories.

Laysus2005-08-02 17:32:51
Garsp... SPamming wisp you say? Waiting for them to enter forest?
Any failure to wisp removes eq. Makes it hard to spam.
And if they resist, you have to resummon wisp, and try again.
Beckon and Wisp are on completely different wavelengths. Try again?

Eiru2005-08-02 17:35:34
Gasp! You mean you actually use up the Will O' Wisp when your target isn't in a forest?
Seriously, I don't know this, do you use it up?
If not, then my point stands.

Laysus2005-08-02 17:37:09
You don't use up the wisp. You lose EQ.
Ditto if they're on a mono.
If they resist, which does happen, then the wisp goes and you need to summon a new one.

And beckon's just one room, again .

Malicia2005-08-02 18:34:00
So much intelligence here.
If you've been 'wisp' spammed, then it was likely more than one Moondancer in place. Listen to Laysus carefully.
There's also protection against being wisped. It's called a monolith. It doesn't matter if the wisper is on a monolith. Can anyone in Magnagora wisp? Even if it wisper weren't able to perform this action while standing on a monolith, you couldn't return the favour. He's in a forest.
Think of the nice and almost unstoppable geosummon. In a demense, nothing stops it. Monos, shields. nothing.'Sure, I might resist, but it's not reliable. Nothing is in Lusternia. Oh, how I love the randomness of it all. Sometimes.
Okay, back to beckon. I think it's a bit strong now. I don't see why beckon would pull my physical body through walls or if I'm off balance/eq. If that's how it's supposed to be, fine.
Maybe we could make the all powerful monolith stop it from working? Hmm? Long shot? Maybe!
