This is both about how much low-level warriors r teh suck and how axes are teh suck.
I recently went through Newton as a Tae'dae with a Waraxe.
I then went through it again as a Mugwump with a nature talisman.
Wooooah. It took my Tae'dae 2-3 swings, each 5 seconds apart, to kill even the weakest Finks and Gnomes. So that's 10-15 seconds per kill, plus having to sleep between them due to damage taken.
My Mugwump was able to kill the strongest Finks and Gnomes, on top of Smoke Mountain, in one hit. Rock Hogs and ants as well. It takes him 2 seconds to regain balance.
So, to recap:
Tae'dae with 19 strength an avergae waraxe = 10-15 second kills
Mugwump with 15 int and a nature talisman = 2 second kills
In the time it took me to raise my Tae'dae to level 7 my Mugwump was level 14 and had over 7000 gold. Not quite fair to our little novices, is it?

Oh, and I KNOW that Tae'dae are supposed to be extremely slow, but their strength should make up for it. It doesn't.

I didn't actually include any ideas, did I?
I know that warriors scale out later on, and that as their health, ect. grows they become just about as good at bashing as the other archetypes (I think). I suggest that Newton creatures either their health decreased, basically.

i kinda agree with that, but warrior bashing damage isn't supposed to be as good, we do more damage to players, but mages and guardians do more damage to mobs, its a give and take situation.

That doesn't make any sense. Player combat and denizen combat are two different things.
I don't know what they could do other than bring the warrior base damage against denizens up (But not change the cap) so it doesn't differ as much as you raise in level.

Some of the top bashers are warriors, for the longest time it was basicly all warriors. You're slow to start, but as you get bigger you become faster, and bigger tanks.
Mages start out fast, but at the higher levels they basicly level out, no more growth with bashing, aswell as taking alot more damage.
Edit:
Think of it like cars, some cars start out really fast(0-60) but top speed is alot lower. Others start out really slow, but have a much higher top speed.

Aye, Hajamin. My main concern is that a newbie starting off as a warrior is going to have a much worse time. And they likely don't know they're going to level off later on.
(And I'm lazy)

Thats where the guild should come in, and help them learn/bash. Aswell as explain to them that as they grow more, they will become far stronger.
As for being lazy... not my problem

We *do* tell them that. But remember that the FIRST FEW LEVELS of the game are what the average novice is going to remember, and that's what they're going to base whether they stay and play more off of. Saying "You will get stronger and much better eventually, with a lot of time put in, if you also buy a ton of credits and buy lots of gear" isn't going to entice a lot of warrior hopefuls to remain.
After all, if someone wins the lottery, does the average person want the cash now, or the longer "paid more cash over 60 years" thing? I believe most would settle for less overall cash immediately.

I agree and that's why I had said it would be nice to raise the base damage against denizens, but not the cap so people could enjoy Warrior bashing more. It's all well and good to say "You'll get better around Fabled," but for the average person that's not going to happen.
Shouldn't the skills be the reward and not the higher ability to bash anyway?

Oh my, I can agree. I rolled up a warrior just for a change of pace. I'm not a basher-type and I almost dread leveling. Ok, maybe I exaggerate. But just a little. It is kinda annoying when you are coming from a magic type, though.
Corr2005-08-05 04:43:59
It would be nice if newton was equally easy for all people, and you left the harder lower level bashing for outside of newton.
Vix2005-08-05 04:44:32
But then people would be complaining about how hard it is to kill a rockeater.
Aleron2005-08-05 09:29:25
heh, its sad though, that an Igasho Magic-user can tank Rockeaters without shielding LONG before a warrior can.
I think I was lvl 50 and had just switched to a masterwork claymore (Expert Pureblade) as a human paladin before I could just straight out tank them without worrying a stray firebreath would kill me, while my Igasho druid did it at lvl 16, even with the penalty
Now.. the problem here is that an Igasho is not meant to be a magic-user, yet, they can still leave warriors in the dust.
That just doesn't seem quite right, if you ask me.
