Writing!

Back to Common Grounds.

I'm going to assume (yeah, that's bad, I know...) that we will eventually get books and manse libraries. Books have been in every IRE game, and manse libraries seem natural if we get libraries at all, or some other way of collecting literature.

Whatever. Anyway.

I'm assuming we can collect these and write stuff down, so... what I think is that people should start getting cracking on literary works. Anything from "The Growth cycles of Lusternian plantlife" to "Ten ways to cook a dragon turtle". First, it would be great to start reading these, and second, if (when?) we get a way to put stuff in writing, I'd love to see a bunch of books right off the bat. I think Rhysus said he was already working on stuff for books (or maybe he said he had enough that he could fill a book, can't remember).

I'm getting started on a book tenetively titled "Richter's Rules", which is similar to the ferengi Rules of Aquisition, from Star Trek. Also thinking about composing a book on planar theory, and the care and maintaining of aetherspace.

Anyone working on books right now?

Heheh, the Aquamancers have had 1 contest, and we have both optional and mandatory requirements to submit to the library. I've kept on file poetry, geographical studies, philosphical pieces and etc written by our members, including novices. I also heard Rhysus has a lot written up already, can't wait to see that. We will have the biggest, most grand library in the Basin! *takes time to show-off* It makes sense, after all.

Actually, I will. happy.gif

LIBRARY COPY was my favorite command in Aetolia. *contentsigh*

Yesh.. my donation to the Aquamancer library was a scroll on how to hold a lottery. happy.gif

I would like to write a few books on how to dance in different ways and lots of weird little books.

Oooh and a book about Joli's conquests.

My bardic "To Arms" was hopefully going to end up in a book in the guild library. Then again, I was hoping the admin would either use it as history or refute it with history. And that's before everything changed a few times, so now I figure it will, and should, just be forgotten.

I was writing a book called
THE BASIC ART

It would be a manual for newbies including details on
-hunting
-influencings
-herbs
-potions
-creatures and strengths and so on.

I was hoping it could be like a trusty guide book.
Ashteru2005-08-11 22:19:41
Ash's writing on the Book:
101 different Faethorn demesnes.
He's currently at number 5. >.> And everytime he tries to work on new ones, Marcalo comes suddenly in and kills him. I think I gave him a new hobby. ninja.gif

I'm so not going to go for Joli now.

Well, I've written 'The Biological Study of the Glomdoring', and am currently working on the Glomdoring's complete history. Hopefully those will both make it into book form.

Considering that the tech level of the history suggests Aetherwave broadcasts and other tech, I would think something as mundane as a library would be a little too boring, and it would be some quasi-internet/web like.
Richter2005-08-11 23:33:25
It could be like the Jedi Archives!

You're thinking of the Super-Secret Akashic Records.

Should I even be mentioning those, or are they common knowledge now?
Richter2005-08-11 23:42:18
They're common knowledge.

And I think he could be right. The Akashic records wouldn't nessecarily have a physical form (we don't know much about them), but the "library" system could be some somewhat-high-tech-magic-thingy.
