There needs to be a better system for getting unenemied to villages. Mainly in the cost. Most cities don't fine 50K very often. And for some of the villages the reason i'm enemied is for killing one villager during influencing. And I'll never be able to scrap of 50K because everytime i save up a bit of gold, i have to spend it on replacing stuff. I think the cost to be unenemied should be 5K per villager you killed. 10K per villager if you are enemied to the city/commune that controlls it at the time of the parley. This would be a fair system, especially for those who don't have gold and and are enemied because they were ordered to kill a villager during influencing.

You could always try using amnesty instead. It's a toss up whether or not you'll get permanently unenemied, but at least it doesn't cost any money. I would like to see the chance of unenemying raised a bit for amnesty, or be based on your crime to the village/time passage as well. Some people, like Gorgulu are almost impossible to influence to get unenemied and that's a shame. Perhaps make it where any of the demonlords/supurnals could act as 'leader' for you to ask for amnesty so you would at least have a chance.

You said you were ordered to kill a villager, make your city pay the fine.

I have to agree with Stangmar. Just because you hurt something once doesn't mean that you should get the full penalty (i.e. 50k to lose enemy status). It should either be a gradual progression, or do what Kayde suggested - increase the chance of amnesty removing enemy status for villages.

I was enemied to Estelbar the day open beta started? Maybe the second day. I'm not really up to paying 50k for unenemying.

Dear Yojimbo,
I was recently ordered to murder several of your furrikin friends and family members. However, it has come to my attention that for the sake of future brain washing, I need to be unenemied to the beloved village of Estelbar. I'm offering 5,000 gold per friend and family member that was slain. I believe that is a reasonable amount for you to put the past behind you.
Yours truly,
Stangmar.

Damn straight

Dear Stangmar,
As a furrikin who is an avid pacifist, I find it sickening for you to claim that a mere 5,000 gold is worthy compensation for your strategic murders to ensure that my fellow villagers were manipulated to favor Magnagora in the past. For this very reason, I shall henceforth surround my village in a powerful spell of peace, you vile, wreteched man. Request denied.
Cordially,
Yojimbo.

We could do what was done on Achaea, where even though you don't get enemy status to villages, you still acquire hostilities from the village's loyals which builds up gradually based on how many loyals you've slain. I'd love for a similar system here instead of being so rediculously easy to get enemied and so expensive to get unenemied. And also the longer you remain an enemy but haven't committed any crimes against the village, the smaller your fine should be.
Jadryga2005-08-19 18:50:13
So long as it doesn't get so you must build loyalty up in a village in order for us to influence them...
