Let's tone down Avechna a bit.

I don't mean, in the reference of having a chance to survive him...that'd make it thoroughly pointless.

But in a sense of how long Pacification lasts, and how long vengeance -lasts-. Suspect status lasting 30 RL days, that's no problem. But I think Vengeance should only last a RL week, tops. I haven't even had Vengeance called on me in about two and a half months, and have come to the conclusion it's -bad-.

I used a Vengeance figuring the person was going to die, vitae, lose 3%, and be pacified for an hour or two....and apparently he's lost about 70%, and is pacified for a RL day. And it just ignored Vitae completely.

And let's face it, the fact that I used my Vengeance over two weeks after I got it is just silly. That wasn't Vengeance, that was "Limited use, unstoppable super attack against the enemy."

Admittedly, I should have more restraint than to -do- such, and I won't try to make excuses for myself. It was a lapse of judgement on my part for good sportsmanship...but the fact that I had the option just seems wrong to me.

I do agree that the Avenger is a bit too punishing right now. Perhaps it would be better if a victim is only able to call Vengeance within a certain number of days after he was slain a second time, perhaps 3 RL days, after that it will reset down to suspect. And please of course such bugs as you getting suspect on someone that got d/c from inside the arena, then came out and died to your afflictions and getting suspect on you should be fixed.

I saw Ekard be avengered today.

The Avatar first came when he was fighting Melanchthon, and caused him to die, though it did not land the killing blow. After he prayed, it waited for his grace to drop and then killed him again, but he bled to death, so that didn't count either. I resurrected him, and it killed him again for three deaths total. There was then no corpse, and I sacrificed.

That's screwy.

Ouch.

I remember the first time I was avengered, I stopped counting how long I was pacified for at 6 hours. I only had three suspect on my list, and one of them was the one who called vengeance.

Next time I waited eight hours. With only two suspect.

By waiting, I mean that's how long till I logged off and went to sleep.

the first time i got avengered i was pacified over a day. And yes, it needs to be toned down. Right now it lasts until the person decides to use it. I had killed Annabelle once(i think it was her), killed her again, and then attacked her and so she had 2 vengeances on me. A long time went by and she hadn't used them, so i thought i was safe, then a loooong time later she came back and decided to use em on me. That was not for revenge. If she waits that long, she's over it. She was doing it to grief me.

Though it is unfortunate that you have been killed for your actions against Annabelle, the policies and procedures for dealing with this are clearly documented in the help files, available for public viewing.

Those that choose to ignore the fact that their actions have repercussions often find that the consequences catch up with them. In this case, you killed Annabelle more than once, and got status. Though she did wait longer than normal, her actions were justified, because you were a dork and killed her a lot.

Yep, I was the one who avengered Ekard. Wouldn't have done it if he didn't raid Earth and killed the Earth Lords. Did he take more penalty from dying a natural death instead of an avenger one? Because then I feel guilty.

Avenger makes you pray, goes through vitae, as well as peace you. So yeah.

That wasn't the case when I was avengered. I got killed and then popped right back at the same room. I took an exp penalty but that was it.

Always had to pray from Avenger to my knowledge.

I'm for a week-long period on Avenger as well. It would be more like karma and prevent it from being abused like that.

One thing I don't like though is when people curse/avenger during influencing. Seems a bit like it's being used unfairly there. Perhaps make curses/avenger uncallable during influencing?

I would rather just have the bleeding and venom status loopholes closed. Faytte has vengeance on Telira, but Faytte was attacked inside a free village each time. She just ran back out and died to saxitin a few minutes later.
