Hi I havent made a character yet but I was wondering what were the major combat diffrences between the two and which would offer more chances for me to get better at fighting
Yrael2005-08-20 03:45:44
The Ur'Guard. See, the Ur'Guard have excellent skills and an excellent environment. The Ebonguard are like the Serenguard (Screwed, skill wise) just with political idiocy to hold them back further.

Ur'guard for sure.
There is a combat culture there to become a good fighter, plenty around to give advice. Go ur'guard!!

I think ur'guard have a couple good skills but overall(in relation to skillsets) they're the weakest amongst the warrior guilds imo. The serenguard and ebonguard are far from screwed skills wise.

Everyone will always claim his or her class is the weakest.
Murphy2005-08-20 05:37:14
heh.
for sheer skills and 3rd skillset? I'd easily reccomend a moon totem serenguard because of the aeon, moonburst and a few other things in there. Especially bonecrusher as you can lock up someone with aeon concussion stupidity without too much difficulty
For guild support, and generally help you to get good at fighting i'd reccomend the ur'guard.

Yes. Because I am a Serenguard.

Gah.
As you can see, the Ur'guard are not only better fighters, they're better talkers.
The Ebonguard actually has a very good environment, and the Proving Grounds clan is great for finding sparring partners to practice with. Their skills aren't as great as the Ur'guard, though, and their Guildmaster can be... unbearable at times. (It's a pun, get it?)
All in all, I'd pick Ur'guard if you just want to be the most badass, 1337 fighter around, but if you're not way too concerned with that you should pick based on which guild's RP you prefer. To give a very basic summary, the Ur'guard is a more disciplined and militaristic organization, while the Ebonguard focus more on the spiritual and primal aspects of combat.

If only he weren't Krokani.
Anyway: Ur'Guard. Glomdoring has fewer and less experienced combatants, and Ur'Guard already has the atmosphere described, where the Ebonguard, due to being in Glomdoring, are missing out in that regard at the moment, though this will fix itself in time.
Unknown2005-08-20 16:19:27
It won't fix itself if they never get any new members.

Hah, even I say go Ur'Guard (ooc).
I'd do it too, if it weren't for skill loss/the fact that it wouldn't make RP sense.
