So, I was sitting at Mother drawing power... when:
(Serenguard): Kidot (from the Prime Material Plane) says, "Do stats have
anything to do with forging or is it completely random?"
And I got to thinking. Why not?
It might be a pain to code, but how about racial stats (outside of just balance) affect forging?
STR and SIZE increases chance of adding to the blunt res. and damage val. when the item is refined. (for armor and weapons respectively)
STR and DEX increases chance of adding to cutting res. and wounding val.
DEX and INT increases chance of adding to speed val.
All stats form a sum, and a percentage is compiled from the sum. This is of course the percent chance of adding to a particular value when refining.
I think this might even spur the forging economy a bit. Think about it, alot of knights would have to go to big strong people to get damage heavy weapons that they might not be able to forge themselves, and to fast smart ones for their speedy weapons. Anyway, just an idea.

No.

Well, what constructive cricism. Someone just want to close it now?

I like it, also I think dwarves should get a bonus to forging.

No.
It would all be a pain to code, yes, and would do nothing but make forging, an already fairly unprofitable tradeskill from what I fear, far less useful.
"Forger for hire!"
"Hey, cool, can you make me some rapiers?"
"Sure!"
"Oh, wait, you're an Igasho. Nevermind."
And if Dwarves were given better forging, people would literally never buy from non-dwarves.

But the percentage can't be so much, else you would be forging 210 damage swords all the time with a few defs and like 21 STR and SIZE. I'm saying just a slight bonus, to maybe make the topouts slightly more one some weapons for some races.

No as well, reasons already provided.
Imagine alchemy based on intelligence, the more intelligent the alchemist is, the more the health potion heals you. Sounds fair?
Now the dillemas. Every warrior pondering between choosing a race he desires and DWARF for forging. Decisions, decisions. Perhaps reincarnating, forging weapons, runing them, reincarnating again?

That's true. People with a cameo would be a bit too... cheap...

Don't forget, igasho make the best blademasters. Maybe by whatever logic makes that work, they'd also make the best one-hand swords.
