Whats a good client for Mac users? I know about Rapscalion, but are there any other good ones?

And, any mac ers got a system for sale?

I use TF as well.

If you're DYING for a GUI, I'd check out MudWalker. Incomplete and a tiny bit laggy, but it's still quite great,

Well, for starters it depends on whether you have os x or not, but if you do then it depends as the others have said whether you don't mind not having a gui or not, because if you don't then definately TF, might take some getting used to but it can be very powerful. If you don't have os x, or do want a gui, then I most definately recommend rapscallion, it is free (seeing as how development completely stopped on it back in 1998, and the guy just released a free code for it since its not being developed anymore, though the source is out there for others to pick up) and even though its not been touched since 1998 it is a very well featured and good to use, except for one very glaring area in my eyes (lack of loops or nested ifchecks, which has led to me getting very creative with aliases, variables and triggers on the mac, as I use mushclient since its shareware/freeish on the pc) it still was more feature advanced then zmud was 6 months ago (I haven't used a modern version since then) which is really not bad if you think about it.

But anyhow, there are other alternatives for gui clients that people swear by, I just never really decided to use them myself as the old rascallion works great, such as cantrip or savitar, or you could always use nexus (the java client), if you do end up using rapscallion (in which I definately suggest the original, non half-carbonized version) I'd always be happy to give some points and help you figure it out

Do not use half-carbonised Rapscallion for OS X or Mudwalker. While Selthar has raved about Mudwalker, I have a brand new 1.8ghz G5 tower with 1.25gb RAM and mudwalker runs slow as anything on it, and would completely freeze up during spammy things like combat, and I'd see things (like myself dying) several minutes after they actually happened.

I use Tiny Fugue, and while it's difficult to learn, you should use it if you're on OS X. However, if you have Classic with OS 9 installed on your computer, I'd use Rapscallion, that's always my preference (can't find my OS 9 to install though, *sigh*). It's less complicated but has a lot of capabilities, some of which I never used the full extent of and could probably build something pretty awesome in now. It actually let me be a decent fighter in Achaea, back in the day.

But I've personally tried Cantrip, Savitar, Nexus (java), and Mudwalker, and none of them runned half as quickly or smoothly, or had enough of the things I needed to satisfy me, and just ended up frustrating me and wasting my time.

I agree with the above two posts, Rapscallion is good, easy to learn and fast despite it's various bugs... *cough* Which leads me to my question...

Have you Rapscallion users ever experienced an error where when you try to start the Rap Document and a message pops up saying, "This document cannot be opened for reading"? Because basically I cannot connect to Lusternia using the system I built anymore, and that is really poopy since I'd have to start over from scratch again... well, if you have had that error and if you have fixed it, lend a little help here please? biggrin.gif

BTW, does MudWalker have a variables function like Rap? That's the only way I know how to keep track of balances, but if there's another method, that'd be nice to know... just in case (it actually runs faster than tf for me O_o but my computer isn't that great either). smile.gif

PS, 1 more thing... how do you export scripts in Rapscallion?
