With the protection scroll what does it stop for the Geomancer demense cause i dont notice much of a difference?
Shiri2005-09-01 04:39:45
Poison fumes, sickening (lowers regen by one level), and the effect of duststorm that blinds you if you don't have sixthsense up. Far less compared to the Hartstone/Aquamancers demesnes, as you can see.
Unknown2005-09-01 04:59:24
well thats crappy it doesnt help much at all and im pretty sure i was still getting hit with poison fumes and duststorms i need to test it out.
Shiri2005-09-01 05:05:15
It does if they dissolve you. It blocked the poison fumes from me, which is -damn- helpful, and it's awesome vs. Hartstone demesnes (almost as awesome vs. Blacktalon, but they have spiders and murder, which I still need to learn to cure properly, vs. squirrels and pathtwist.)
Tsakar2005-09-01 05:33:50
Actually Shiri, I don't know if its broken or changed, but I've been sparing geomancers lately since I'm no longer immune to poison (no longer being a geomancer) and the poison gas was hitting me through the protection scroll, and I am 100% certain it was still up, checked defenses all throughout the fights because I'd been told it stops that and was wondering what was going on

Hmm. Then maybe it's bugged. I swear it blocked it the other day, though...I normally forget to put up orange chakra so it wasn't that...
Geb2005-09-01 06:30:26
Yes, I noticed the problem too. I would have the protection up, but I was still being made hungry by the demesne poison gas.

Druids have the right to rant about this.. protection scroll stops everything cept treelife.. EVERYTHING!!!
geomancers still have their stun.. whats up with this?! all i get is some tree slinging crap and they run off...

Druids get squirrels, murder, treelife, vines, spiders, briars and storm.
Geomancers have damage, stun, legbreak, exit masking, rubble, and stonerain in general.
Aquamancers get chill, currents, healing, affliction curing, proning, anti-trees/air, and...I think that's it.
Sylphas2005-09-01 06:46:43
Keep in mind that, if you climb down instantly since you're not paralyzed, our demesne hits with... storm. That's it.

Better not be off-eq or writhing from briars or anything then!
Jitwix2005-09-01 06:49:58
Squirrel OR Murder. Not both.

Hartstone get squirrels (trees only), vines (trees only), treelife, and storm (why would you count briar walls because it is not an active effect anymore than an icewall)
Blacktalon get murder (trees only), vines (trees only), treelife, and storm.
===========
End result: The demesne does 300 damage on the ground and you should never get hit by the rest of it.

Blacktalon get spiders too, actually. And if you're off-eq from fighting in a team you'll be hit by the rest of it, as I say. Still not quite up to par though.

Do the scrolls stop the Geomancers stonerain? The one that causes rubble walls and knocks you from the sky?

No.
Yrael2005-09-01 07:01:18
Pity. That and stun should be stopped, methinkses. That way I can at least walk through a Geomancer demesne like I can an Aquamancer, or druid. (Well, provided Typhoon doesn't get me. Stop that too!)
Geb2005-09-01 07:27:31
Aquas lose the following:
Jellies (stun and damage)
Stillwater (If you do not have fluidswim or waterwalking, you take drowning damage)
Needlerain (Elemental defenses stripping, which decreases our damage potential even more)

No, you do not if you have waterbreathing. Stillwater nullifies any waterbreathing enchantment or natural ability.
