Is this intentional?

If you drop two items that are the same type but different appearance it will reguard them as having the same appearance.

For example

In my shop

"sign47969" a brightly-glowing sign
"book116949" an intricately patterned book
"book21885" a smooth leather book
Number of objects: 3

yet you will see

The Silver Stag.
Superimposed over this location, an ethereal forest reaches up to the sky. This quaint little shop is cozy and calm, exotic night blooming flowers the color of deep amethysts and sapphires cling to the walls suspended from hanging basins, their sweet fragrance giving the shop a relaxing atmosphere. Items for sale are displayed on intricately carved stands of white ash wood polished to a sheen. The ebony stone floor is adorned with a lush carpet of living moss. Glittering fireflies hover near each stone basin, playing among the flowers and casting a gentle glow over the wares. A sign here suggests you READ SIGN! There are 2 intricately patterned books here. You see a sign here instructing you that WARES is the command to see what is for sale.
You see exits leading southwest (open door) and in (closed door).

Just curious if it is supposed to be that way now.

Aye I bugged it a while ago, I just didn't know if it was intentional.
Anarias2005-09-02 22:27:24
I saw this a while ago (and bugged it) when I noticed necklaces were doubling up in the room description while enchanting. Damn Nejii's necklace.
Viravain2005-09-02 22:27:46
If you submit a bug in game, 9999 times out of 10000 it has been read and is known about. Stop posting bugs on the forums - it really is not going to get them fixed any faster by doing so.

For further clarification, refer to this.

Okay egg on my face. I am sorry. Since it had been this way for awhile.. a good long time. I wasn't sure if it was intentional. That it was meant to be this way. I also assumed that if it was a bug that it wasn't really an abusable bug that it would be okay to ask about.

Thanks for jumping down my throat.

No disrespect intended, your furiousness, but she -did- say:

And there are several issues with groupings of items, such as when you've killed one thing, one remains, and you cannot attack it before you pick up the corpse (unless you use numbers), as well as the gem/gems and gem/vial issues.

They're working on them, from what we've been told though.

Edit: superninja.gif ed by Ialie, who put it a little less eloquently. *twiddle*

Furious? No. But I've personally seen that bug (a few dozen times by now) and there is a clear sticky at the top of General stating to not post bugs. It is very clear cut.

As for it being intended? No, that is for sure - but there are higher priorities at the moment, obviously.

Your furiousness was a joking title referencing Viravain's character. sad.gif

It is true that I bugged it in the past because I thought maybe it was a bug, but I wasn't entirely sure. I thought perhaps this was intentional to cut down on the spam that you see in shops as it has. You see a lot less shop spam now because of the change in grouping. It did seem like a benefical change. Again. I did not know it was a bug. If I knew that it was a bug this post wouldn't be here. I had a question. Not a declarationg to make.
Unknown2005-09-02 22:54:22
I bugged it I think at least a month ago. It's like that for a long time now.
Archthron2005-09-03 00:28:17
When I find things that might be bugs but maybe aren't, I issue myself to find out first. It always seems to work promptly.
Unknown2005-09-03 00:34:20
How can this not be a bug?

It'll get fixed when the Lusternian Staff have some time between all their Skill making, Event running, and Area building which is making Lusternia the best IRE MUD around.
