Why?

You don't necessarily bleed when you get pierced. When I had my ears pierced I didn't bleed.

Realism perhaps... My left ear bled... *shrug*

Maybe...my ears didn't bleed either...but I'd assume that if you pierced your tongue for example it would most likely bleed.

Or if possible, when you can pierce, the higher you go, the more accurate you are... if you are under the influence of alcohol when doing so, for example, you would be liable to pierce someone's eye instead of eyebrow, or mute a person when piercing the lips....

already a trans bladey/ almost trans combat... no need for that.. It is just these little things that add the realism factor in worlds like these...

How about a system where if you got your ears pierced but got dirty soon afterwords, and started to stink and you didn't wash up, your piercings got infected, and then you went into septic shock and died.
