I've heard complaint after complaint from the new novices that the Caves are too crowded. I've heard that the caves are completely empty of things to kill, that people are stealing kills/corpses/quest items, which I doubt would happen if there were enough to go around, and in general, most novices have turned to weeviling. I think it would be very, very nice if there was a second place for novices to level and adventure - novices shouldn't have to worry about limited bashing spots, it discourages them, and that's not a good thing =\\
Of course, you're all too busy right now, I'm sure, to design such. I just wanted to point out that I felt it was really needed, sometime in the future.

That's why there are portals to places like Lolliprin and Smoke Mountain.. I've found that by far not as many people find their way to the gnome castle.. or at least it takes them a while.

I spent 4 hours there earlier on an alt and ran into a total of 3 novices. There was constantly things to kill there, so I would hazard a guess that it is a time issue for some of these novices, and things won't get better for them as they advance to bigger areas. There will always be more people hunting a zone than there is creatures to provide for them.

Well, I haven't been there in a while, so I only have what I hear to go on. Was that at a highly active time, or a time when there were few people in the realms? There are 30 or so novices in the realms at the moment, and if half of them were in the Newton Caves, that's overcroweded.
And by the Caves, I mean, all three sections of the caves. *shrugs*
EDIT: And yes, I know later areas ARE crowded, but I don't think the newbie area should be. If someone joins the game and gets frustrated as a novice, they are much less likely to return. Making their novicehood as enjoyable as possible seems better than preparing them for frustrations they will encounter later on.

I guarantee they've still got nothing on the days when we had at least a hundred novices online at any one point.

That was NUTS. It can't be anything like it was in open beta.

I got bored of Lusternia then and didn't play it for a month because I couldn't level or anything

Pah, I managed. Started killing rockeaters and stuff at level 11-12 or so, hit once, pentagram, heal, etc. Payed off too, because I was ranked 7th in experience for a while
These novices can manage, and there are more important things to do, like giving Celest their own private bashing grounds.
Bau2005-09-14 02:35:22
I explored the first few days. I was among the highest explorers till I got bored of that, and had to lead everyone arouind from Serenwilde for a while

I had the pretty much the whole realm explored (except for Celestia and parts of Astral, but hey I even did the underwater parts of the sea and the GH's too) shortly after Kaervas, except I was stuck at 'Riverwalker'
silimaur2005-09-14 11:27:41
i got from lvl 1-50 very slowly on rats so i could buy hundreds of creds at 1k never cared about newton
Ceren2005-09-15 00:53:48
Newton is better gold than rats if you do it right... and of course if your not a little novice warrior
Bau2005-09-15 04:35:22
Actually, pilgrims are the best for gold and experience in those earlier levels. And the village quests aren't too bad.
Narsrim2005-09-15 04:36:04
There is no better source for experience at lower levels than the Celest sand quest, heh. Its like insta-level 5

O_O Can we have quests like this in the Serenwilde? Please? :beg:
Bau2005-09-15 06:01:11
Went from level 5 to level 9 just doing the tae'dae cub quest.

Why don't the communes have quests that give similar experience?
