I know if you have OOC credits, you can transfer them between characters freely. But what if you use those credits to buy a clan, which you make OOC (like limbo, or the clan)? Can you transfer that between characters?
Just out of curiosity.

I don't think you can do that.
Hajamin2005-09-17 05:24:18
no

As far as I'm aware, clans are IC devices, but the admin are happy to look the other way when they are used for OOC communication.

They just have to be secret, not public, if I understand correctly.
Bau2005-09-17 12:12:41
Private, not secret.
Secret means nobody but the clan head or those with the privilege can see who the others are in it.

The way it was explained to me:
Credits are ooc, can be transferred to anyone, anytime.
Transferring anything else between characters, including things bought with those credits, is prohibited.

I thought only OOCly bought credits are allowed to be transferred between characters. But they are, so I think there's no problem with giving the credits to someone and then let them buy a clan or cartel with it.
Hajamin2005-09-18 08:41:25
Credits gained in OOC manners, such as buying them or winning them in bardic contests, can be transfered.
Bau2005-09-18 08:44:31
I thought bardic/artisinal couldn't be transferred, cause the stories/art are considered to be done by your character?

Many admin are not "happy" to look away, but see it more as an evil that isn't going to be stopped. And some gods even require you not be part of any of those clans if you wish to become a member of their order.
Rauros2005-09-19 17:49:11
Sorry to change the subject but I'd rather just ask this here instead of starting a new topic.
If my main character owns a manse and sets its fulcrux privs to private so that only I may enter it, can I give any alts I own privs to my manse as well?

Rashidat2005-09-19 18:47:14
Nope. The alts can not interact with each other. Unless you plan on giving permission to random strangers, the answer would be no.

I've never heard this, personally. Sounds extremely stupid and childish, to me. OOC and IC should remain seperate - so why have IC regulations on OOC clans? I mean, if I hear of a Lusternian order using this as a restriction, I'm honestly going to start using it as an arguement for/against people when they contest. "Sorry, Bau's in an OOC clan. That's bad roleplay. She'd make a horrible GM." I mean, what sort of BS is that?
Meh.
Iridiel2005-09-20 13:59:43
Well, the Gods see those clans as organizations this person belongs. If so, they can say they don't want anybody from those blacklisted organizations.

Actually, it does make sense, just the same as a young novice who constantly goes OOC will not be readily advanced. Obviously they are lapsing into insanity, and no rational God is going to want to welcome someone into their confidence if they are schizophrenic.
As I said, there's no such thing as an OOC clan, just a clan used for OOC communication.
