I think it would be very helpful to see how many available copies there are
In the line that says
There is <#> copy available for checkout.
Perhaps it can say
There is <#/#> copies available for checkout. The second number being the total amount of copies.
Perhaps it could be possible for librarians to see who has a book checked out also.
LIBRARY WHO
Noobienoob has checked out a copy of "Noobiehelperbook2000".
Duranduran has checked out a copy of "Crapymusic101".
Murphy has checked out a copy of "So You Think You Are Overpowered."

*shrugs* this would be helpful to the librarians, i would have thought there was a log or something for checkouts
Ialie2005-09-21 09:21:37
Is there a Library Browse All command of some type?
Unknown2005-09-21 10:11:57
I'd LOVE it if there was a librarylog sort of like the power log or any of the other various ones. It wouldn't be that messy though
Syntax: "Librarylog"
2005/09/21 10:03 - Ialie checked out "Jewelry secrets"
2005/09/21 09:03 - Tsuki returned "Sparkleberries and you"
2005/09/21 06:28 - Nejii checked out "Furrikin Flee prevention"
2005/09/21 04:48 - Tsuki checked out "Sparkleberries and you"
"Librarylog 0 0 returned"
2005/09/21 09:03 - Tsuki returned "Sparkleberries and you"
Makes sence to me, if the Librarians don't have something like this it's going to get very nasty when a random Alt comes in, does newton, gets 25k and checks 250 books, and destroys them all. that's what... 1.25 MIL gold lost

I maintain that even if there was a log, random alts can do it anyway and the damage is done. Make books checked out FORCIBLY returned on the due date, because there really isn't any other point otherwise - it's not even visible to the people checking the books out how long they get it for.
Unknown2005-09-21 10:20:47
hmm, true, ya the automatic return needs to be fixed then
Sylphas2005-09-21 13:46:17
Forcible return sounds absolutely lovely. -eye patrons-
Bau2005-09-21 13:49:19
Forcibly returned on time?
There goes overdue fines.
There goes overdue fines.
Sylphas2005-09-21 13:52:44
You know that libraries don't make money on overdue fines, right? They're a deterrent, not a way to raise funds. If people always bring them back on time, there's no reason to have them, and I don't have to get yelled at by morons trying to get around paying their fines.
Bau2005-09-21 13:56:28
I know, Sylphas, but to the forgetful or absent-minded (as avid readers often are), overdue fines suck.
Sylphas2005-09-21 14:35:51
About half the time they're cheerfully willing to pay, the rest of the time they pay to the minimum and the other $5 we will never, ever see. Or they'll use a different card and ignore the $300 in fines on theirs.
Corr2005-09-21 17:34:23
If a book gets put into the nexus, does it go away or will the forced return still bring it home?
Sylphas2005-09-21 17:35:49
Artifacts put into nexii still reset, so I assume books would too.
