So, does anyone else think Shel Silverstein and Brian Jacques both look like pirates, and should buy a boat and start pirating, or is that just me?

And I thought -I- would ask weird questions when I am drunk... blink.gif

-is entirely sober, and not even tired-

The rest of the staff agrees that Silverstein is pirate material, but the reference assistant and I are arguing over whether Jacques is or not. I maintain that he is, especially having written a book about pirates.

Silverstein is dead isn't he? Walked the plank oooon.... *googles* May 10, 1999 from heart failure.

Jacques doesn't seem that piratey in my opinion. Yes, many of his books featured pirates, but that doesn't make him one. He just looks like... an old man.

Nose? Red
Cheeks? Red
Teeth? Rotten
Beard? Check!
Eyes? Beedy

Looks like a pirate to me!

Only thing going against him is the pink shirt and wrinkly forehead... way too much thinking for a pirate.

I'm not taking into account if they're actually alive or not.

Silverstien should have made that darn tree into a pirate ship. Silly giving tree!

Who the hell is Silverstein?
Sylphas2005-09-29 03:29:48

His books are all more or less the same, but it's like reading your favorite book over and over again, and having it be different enough each time that you don't mind. smile.gif

Too true. Martin the Warrior just comes in and saves their furry butts every single time, but it does have a certain enjoyable quality to it.
