How many lessons to learn a skill, ie planar or your tradeskill, to its highest level starting at 0.
Someone said 1700 or around there. Is that right?

I've heard 1715 before, but... I think that might be slightly off, I've heard 1740-1750 as well. anyway, ya that's pretty close
Unknown2005-09-29 11:29:56
So pretty darn near impossible then without buying a whack load of credits.
Rauros2005-09-29 11:38:39
It's 1714 lessons to trans a skill.

I think you get something like 1255 lessons total from leveling/the fates tour, so a Demigod, you never bought credits from his/her city or guild or the market or OOC, would have enough lessons to get 1 skill to Mythical.
600 lessons from neocredits
500 lessons from levels
155 to start? heh Havn't made a new char. in awhile might be off by 10 or so lessons there.
It is very easy to buy credits from your city/guild, depending on what they do with them. Serenwilde I know has a credit sale once we reach 1k credits, and they are then sold off cheaply to commune members for about half what they go for on the Market. It's not impossible to Trans skills without buying credits, it just takes a lot of time. I was hunting for hours and hours straight once, and doing quests and other things, and I got enough gold in 1 real life day of gaming to buy 15 credits from the market. heh, I can't do that all the time, nor would I want to, as I'm here to RP more then endlessly hunt. But the point is it only took me a day of hunting to get around 100 lessons, so in 3 weeks of doing that you could trans a skill. Sooo if those people who've been around since the begining had been devoting that much time to it they'd be all Trans'ed up by now without buying a single OOC credit, it's all about how much time you want to put into doing this, or that, and so forth.

Aesyra is a Demigod(level 100), and has all but 2 skills trans, plus many artifacts. It's a concept of time or money, those with the time (like Aesyra and probably about half of Lusternia) take the longer IG route to max out skills. Those with the money can do it faster (Note the 180 credits per day convertion limit, so you can't go from newbie to fully maxed out in a day).
I know there were a few people that bought no OOC credits, but had many maxed out skills within the first month or so of opening.
Unknown2005-09-29 13:59:52
Yeah, most guilds and cities sell credits cheap enough and often enough that anyone who earns a decent income from their trade or bashing can raise their skills fairly effectively.
And there's always mentoring, or artistic/bardic competitions!

Back when credits were 1000 gold a piece.
But yeah, it isn't hard. Enter some bardic contests maybe. Even if you don't get first you still rack up points for later, and may eventually score those winning 4 points for some extra credits. Gold doesn't come too hard here as long as you can find credits to spend it on.

EDIT: No not saying that..

Hajamin has the right of it. I remember in Aetolia, where the credits were cheaper but it was MUCH harder to earn gold (2.5k when I played, but only one quest I knew gave 2k and the rest 500 or so, and no trade skills to boot). I spent about 3 hours a day for, I think 2 months to earn the ~1.4k lessons I needed to trans. I promised myself I'd NEVER do that again though.
It's MUCH easier here, even with the higher prices and no Astral. It'll still take a long time, though.

I think on Aetolia is much heasier to buy credits. I was playing there only for half year, it was my first MUD and i had tritrans charracter there.
And there was quest for 20k gold or it was 10k? It was long time ago.
But Lusternia is far better, i'm not going to go back there heh.
Anyone want to trade character there for Lusternia credits?
