Considering that I've tried working with the changes to unite, I've come to the conclusion that the changes were too much.
The power cost is too much considering track uniting is a feature of tracking that is commonly used. All the power cost does is isolate our tracking to such things that we deem worth the power cost of tracking, like turtles or what not and degrade the utility side of the skill that the skill.
Bond commands shouldnt cost eq. I'm already not a fan of it needing eq since I found that moving our pets at the same time you're moving is important when trying to keep them alive. There are no available means for us to resummon our pets midcombat, once they die. Best we can do is go all the way back to the city/commune to get one and considering they die in 3 of my combos with no crits (4-6seconds) it makes the pets totally unsuitable for combatative purposes. The eq cost just adds to this problem as now we have to decide wether we should move our pets far away and risk going off balance or what not which makes it a lot more difficult than it should be. Maybe one or the other will do but not both.
Willpower cost I find is fair. Though heavy 400 to seek 800 to unite after around 15 mobs Alger is totally worn out which puts a limitation to how much I can use it.
Suggestion is remove the power cost, and the eq cost. Retain the need for balance and the willpower cost. Give moonbeam the willpower cost of unite (which makes seek/unite more expensive still 400+800 = 1.2 vs 800)

Removal of EQ cost is a bit much for a free ride, isn't it? How does it work, exactly? Dog seek target/thing, dog trots off, dog unite, bam? Unstoppable, kind of? What about monoliths or high pents, dogs cant walk past them can they?

Nothing stops Unite, that I know of, as long as you can get your animal there.
Bond abilities should require equilibrium, but not use it. This stops force effects from being an instant win against transmigrating druids.

Its restricted to local for initiation. Not exactly whorable due to willpower cost, like i said earlier 15 times at lvl 80 and im dead on willpower.
It works exactly like Serenwilde's moonbeam if you know how that works except moonbeam has no costs associated to it and the target is a player not an ent.

Someone tell me, how many druids so far have died to the force recall/kill pet thing? cause I keep hearing how scared you are, but have yet to see it in any proliferation
Sylphas2005-10-01 02:46:29
No one that I know of yet, and it currently isn't really possible. Also, very few Hartstone, at least, even have it yet. Before, you could do it without balance or equilibrium, and couldn't stop it once initiated. Your animal WOULD come to you, if it was on plane, so you really would be faced with the choice of ordering it to follow and running like hell, or dying. Just because it never came up doesn't mean it wasn't easily possible.
Diamante2005-10-01 03:08:55
Well I would like to see it executed, and a log given, before we all scream how easy it is.
Vix2005-10-01 03:19:02
Alright. Sylphas and your owl, meet me and my pooka in the arena at dawn.
Tsakar2005-10-01 03:23:03
Which really isn't much of a worry anymore for deepbond seeing as how it was changed back to they can leave it on any plane (manse), and return right to it giving them back the 18 power unstoppable experience free death, except for those that would leave it in their guildhall/commune place instead of a guild/commune manse which makes safer sense. And with the skunk change they can use that totem ability in whichever room they have their ent in and it is safe from being tracked by a hunter. For the few who use their familiar or keep it on prime that arn't deepbonded the change is good as loosing their familiar costs them about 1/3rd their health so being unable to recall it off balance is a good change for them, though every bonding ability taking power now is another matter
Jairdan2005-10-01 03:27:05
The reason why the Arena is so unfeasible, is that Sylphas should have his owl stashed away in a manse or some other adjacent plane, from where it is impossible to recall it unless he himself is in a manse.
A Druid should NEVER get screwed by this tactic. If you are on Prime, put your pet at ethereal Mother. Boom. You're safe. If you are fighting on Ethereal, put your pet at Prime Mother. Boom. You're safe.
If you get hit with this tactic, it is your own silly fault. And don't say "Well, it -could- happen!" Sure, but you could also simply be moonbursted to death due to lack of health vials. Does that mean moonburst should be nerfed because you weren't prepared? Not at all. Hell, putting your own on an adjacent plane is even cheaper than a health vial.

Thus the reason we all screamed when it had to be on plane.
And I can't test it, I forgot Ecology.

Don't even need to have that much 'risk' such as comments on another thread about new novices not knowing better, simply put them in a guild or commune manse and spray skunk totem which any druid would have thats got transmigration
