Was wondering what the average stats for flails were, and other weapons. Figured with all the novices and new warriors it would be nice to know so they know when they have a good set or not.

If you forge enough, you can get up to 180, 190 and 200 damage stats on flail/broadswords. I've gotten up to 280 something on rapier speeds, and as far as the scimitars.. I don't care to deal with them.

A useful rule of thumb is to use stat rune artifacts as weapon quality benchmarks when you consider the combined total of the Damage, Precision, and Speed of what you have. For example, you could say that a...
Average weapon totals to 463, the highest base you can attach a rune to.
Good weapon totals to 478, the L1 stat rune amount.
Very good weapon totals to 493, the L2 stat rune amount.
Excellent weapon totals to 508, the L3 stat rune amount.
This will give you a good foundation for the overall quality of what you have, which you then need to temper with the understanding of what you want to use the weapon for. This is mostly common sense and experience, though sometimes the two do contradict eachother. One thing to keep in mind is that even a very high overall stat total might not be worthwhile for you, if the balance of the individual stats isn't suited to your needs. Likewise, getting one or two 'perfect' stats may outweigh a third poor one.
Weapons that are ideal for bashing are often less well suited to PvP, and the reverse. Once you've decided -what- the weapon you are looking for is going to do (Bashing or PK), you should consider -how- it is going to do it (Damage, Critical hits, Wounding, and so on).
