A few days ago Tully found a vial of something called Absynthe. Thinking it's the booze, I buy and sip it. Turns out to be a lot like weed...three sips and the experience turns bad and the faces start talking to you and make you black out.

What the hell is Absynthe? Have we started producing new Lusternian drugs?

No idea, but I want some. I want to be able to make it too!

Its for dreamweavers... but yeah, I think its highly alchaholic.

No, I think it's just liquid weed. Or LSD.

Drink 1 sip, you get the smiley faces, and you are diagnosed as "tripping hard".

Drink maybe 4-5 sips, they appear with words around/inside them, and you get "having a bad trip" on diagnose. You also get "senses overwhelmed" which is just a bunch of line feeds erasing your log.

Never smoked Cactus Weed in Lusternia, so I dunno if this is related.

Does alcohol resistance affect it (absynthe), or does it make you stoned regardless?

It doesn't seem to get you drunk. I think it's named Absynthe to confuse people. LOL.

In real life absinthe is acohol with an infusion of wormwood. It was used by poets and artists for inspiration and has been illegal for some time. The active ingredient is thujone, which is molecularly very similar to tetrahydracannibol (the active ingredient in marijuana).

So yes; it's just liquid weed.

IRL I drink absinthe. I don't get hallucinations but i do get very very drunk.

A lot of placed that legalize absinthe now don't have the old school wormwood in them.

If you have absinthe flowing in your blood when you go into dreamform (I think it appears on DIAG when you sip), half of your maximum ego is added to your health.

So I go from 2.9k health, to 5.5k in dreamform. It's our version of surge.

Means a lot of dreamweavers are walking around drunk though.

Edit: I also think it would be really cool if absinthe was an addictive drug in Lusternia. There are what, 4 dreamweavers in total? Let's give it a nasty side-effect.
