My semi-absense

I just... need a break. I know I left a lot of stuff undone, and I'm not leaving, I'm just not going to as active as I normally am for a few days. The Shiri situation hit me really hard, and with all the inconsiderate vultures swooping over the Serenwilde before the body's even cold, so to speak, it just... disgusts me.

Nothing's fun anymore. It's all just arguing, bickering, yelling... What happened to our prized sense of unity? It's like Shiri's vanishing is a symbol to the Seren, that everything isn't as easy, so joyous, that we can't celebrate each other, but must fight one another instead.

You know I spend 12 hours a day most days playing Lusternia? Yeah, I'm an addict, I know. Why? Because the Serenwilde was just such a wonderful place to be. The way we stood together, the way we defended each other, the way we help each other out no matter what... where went all that?

It feels like it was dragged away with Shiri, leaving only the unpleasent stress of a game that has become more frustration than fun. I never thought I'd be ashamed to be a Serenwilder, but many times today and yesterday, I felt that way.

I'll be back, and soon. I just need to calm down, I guess, and wait for all the lame, poorly thought out drama to settle. And the election to end.

I'll go make an alt somewhere that isn't Seren. That'll make me feel better, I think. I'll still be on Shorlen perhaps two hours a day or so, or just until I get mad or sad and decide to leave.

:/ Must really be censor.gif up if even you can be made unhappy, man...you know what I think of you, and don't even dare to leave as you mentioned once you would one day!!! angry.gif
Be back soon as Shorlen, Ash wants to annoy him a little here and there. tongue.gif

Erm, how is that language appropriate?

Thing will be fine. Take time to breathe and relax. Have faith that things will work out and settle down.

I'll keep an eye on the guild, so if something comes up that needs the High Wisdom's attention, I'll let you know so you can focus on that when you are around.

For the commune and haste in the election after Nejii's departure, try to look at it from the perspective of commune members being concerned over how we'll be guided, especially with relations with Celest in such a state of confusion currently, rather than as greedy vultures who don't care. On a lighter note, my being an ambassador's aide finally had a real use in providing funds for something without the commune leader to withdraw from the coffers.

And Shorlen is not allowed to disappear entirely until he and Tsuki are married so she can adopt his daughter. whip.gif

In all seriousness, if this is the case, you need to take a good look at your priorities. Spending large amounts of time on the computer is considered crazy by some. doh.gif

If you don't have something that takes up your time, like work, school, sleep, or human interaction, you -can't- spend it all on Lusternia. For one, our bodies are not meant to be abused like this, and it will affect your health if you do that all the time. Also, you need -real- human interaction. I see far too many people that need a to go exercise, or have a girlfriend/boyfriend, or just... I dunno, it frustrates me to see people on all the time.

But, if you're taking a break, I applaud you, and I suggest you go fishing.

WHEN I PLAY Lusternia, I spend about 12 hours on. When I'm not ill like this, I spend all day wednesday and friday with my RL friends, and I constantly leave the room to speak with my apartmentmates while playing. My RO-addicted roommate often watches over my shoulder when interesting things are happening, like village influencing, or we go play games together / watch stuff together to take breaks from our online addictions.

It's not like I have no life outside of Lusternia - I just enjoy Lusternia a LOT. Well, I guess, enjoyed. Meh.

I know that the latter part of this isn't exactly true. However, I fully understand and relate to how you feel. While I'm concerned about who will lead next, part of me hates thinking about it because it reminds me of why. And then I'm sad. So sad.

I just keep feeling like a very good friend has died and noone cares. I know neither is true, but still, it feels that way.

We need a group hug session. We'll just spam each other with hugs until we giggle.

Then we'll cry some more.

How's the pirate ship kidnapping going? crying.gif
Unknown2005-10-12 22:13:17
I built a very large pirate ship. Sadly, it was only this morning I discovered I live on a lake, not an ocean, or a bay, or a sea, or any body of water that is connected to the Atlantic. sad.gif

Odd, just two days ago you were writing about how you had so much fun influencing even though it took 8 hours.

Sounds like you need to get into more combat situations and less political situations.

Helloo? Nejii was there. sad.gif

To lose a village for a few weeks is one thing, to lose a dear friend is another.
Tsuki2005-10-12 22:19:58
Corr, Shorlen had been enjoying himself. Kindly understand that something significant happened to chang that which profoundly affected him, though.

Fishing man it works wonders. I have this friend who lives in Montana, calls himself Madman, he always used to say 'When things get bad I go down by the river.' So just go down by whatever your own personal river is and listen to the sounds of the world go by. Take a fishing pole or don't but yeah man just enjoy the river.

I know nothing I wrote probably makes any sense but it is the first serious thing I've written on these forums in a long time. Be well.

It actually made a lot of sense - I do this a lot when I'm having my increasingly common emotional problems. I'll take my shoes and socks off, roll up my jeans, and go wade on the beach at 4 a.m., or wander in the rain in the early pre-dawn twilight. It's rather fun and relaxing.

Eat chocolate chip cheesecake and regular cheesecake covered in cherries and then get a punching bag or have a pillow fight to relieve the stress.
Galatae2005-10-12 22:36:26
Any suggestions for those of us whose body systems can't handle cheesecake? sad.gif
Vix2005-10-12 22:38:24
Or those of us that are landlocked?

Hm, I like to snuggle my dog. I think it annoys him though.

Open a vein, and pray that buddhists are right.

Oh, crap, we're being serious (and heretics)! I love long walks in the rain, and being crap up. Lighting red ant hills on fire after soaking them with lighter fluid/kerosene/liquid butane all work, too.
