I've had this on login for quite sometime, and sometimes it will say I have new mail, or messages, eventhough I do not... How can I fix this?

Hmm it might just be a bug...I've gotten the same thing with the messages notice and no new messages.

You can't, it's a bug (most likely). A lot of people get that.

You very likely do have a new message. For some reasons, on occasions, the newest message is not shown. If it says you have a new message, do 'MSGS FULL', find the last one you see, and then add one to that number and do 'showmsg '. More often than not, you'll see the new message.

Yeah, on an alt I saw that I had new messages, but RM didn't seem to work. :/

I've had the new elections/referendums one since a guild election awhile back, was still there when the election was over, and is still there now even though there have been no open referendums or elections since, is there every time I log in, so its not just you

I've had that 'election, referendum' thing show up for ages now.. thought there never actually is one, you get used to it eventually.

My other problem, with messages, is that when I do RM it says I have no new ones, and when I do messages full, it shows them. RM -used- to work.

Luckily, if there's an election, the person that is contesting announces it in a post.

Oh, and howcome the POLITICS news section is broken?

Some elections are visible, some are hidden, the hidden ones show up as a new post but don't exist when you try to read it directly or by rn

I know that my Ur'guard alt gets the election message every time he logs on, and there are no referendums or elections.

And...it's annoying..

I see the "You have ELECTIONS or REFERENDUMS" thing every time for a while now, plus I do have an election listed, but it's a broken one (no question or choices) for a clan I'm not even in any more.

Well.. all I can say is... You aquamancers DO have a referendum for once and you'd better all vote.

Strangely enough, I've yet to see a single referendum or election at all. (Something to do with the never making it past GR1 or to any important position, I suppose).

I've had the 'new elections or referendums' message for weeks.
