Elcyrion, the Erudite says, "I shall recount it from my perspective then, the
things you would not have seen."
Elcyrion, the Erudite says, "The Soulless descended upon us before we were
ready, I had not expected her to reach our location so quickly. This was a
grave underestimation, which proved to be very costly in the end."
Elcyrion, the Erudite says, "I attempted to use indirect means to deflect her,
I knew you were not ready yet, and that if she attacked you now, there was no
way you would survive, no way you would be able to bring the brunt of your
prowess to bear."
Elcyrion, the Erudite says, "It was like throwing pebbles at a Half-formed; no
indirect means I could come up with had any effect on Her whatsoever. I suspect
Her lack of a Soul made most of my tactics useless."
Elcyrion, the Erudite says, "I sent out a mental summons to the closest warrior
at least four times, but Hajamin must have been too busy stroking his own
considerable ego. If he would just have answered, nothing of this would have
happened."
Elcyrion, the Erudite says, "The last summons nearly cost me dearly, the
instants of focus they cost me were brutally exploited by Her with speed and
brutality."
Elcyrion, the Erudite says, "I knew it would only be a matter of time before I
made a wrong move, and She would grab and devour me. I noticed you were still
not ready, and knew inside that there was no way in reality that you could be
at that point."
Elcyrion, the Erudite says, "No indirect manifestation of my will had any
effect whatsoever, but I had to buy more time, so I did the only other thing I
could think of; I directly pitted my will against Her hunger."
Elcyrion, the Erudite says, "I have never felt anything like it before, it was
like a gaping void, threatening to consume the very nature of reality. The
infinite blackness that was Her being churned and reeled, attempting to devour
my soul, my Ego."
Elcyrion, the Erudite says, "I forced every last particle of my mind into
willing Her back, willing Her to stop. And somehow, I managed to achieve a
stalemate, keeping my Ego well behind a massive wall of Will, and forcing this
forward against Her infinite hunger with everything that was in me."
Elcyrion, the Erudite says, "It was horrible, Her hunger threatened to engulf
me every last second of our struggle, the gaping hole of infinite hunger and
blackness pushing unrelenting against me."
Elcyrion, the Erudite says, "I have no idea how long we remained locked in this
way, but it seemed like eternity, every last second of excruciating focus
stretching into infinity before me."
Elcyrion, the Erudite says, "It dawned on me that I could not keep this up,
eventually I would tire, or make a mistake, yet Her hunger was infinite,
mindless and unending. Eventually it would devour me."
Elcyrion, the Erudite says, "Perhaps the fact that I knew this is what saved
me, allowed me to make one desperate move when that time finally came."
Elcyrion, the Erudite says, "She knew I couldnt hold on anymore, She could feel
it, and I could sense the triumph going through Her at my impeding demise. Yet,
it was this expectance that allowed me the time I needed."
Elcyrion, the Erudite says, "She wasnt expecting me to fail yet, time had no
meaning, it could have been instants that were left to me, but for us, it might
as well have been days. An instant before She expected me to, I allowed my wall
to collapse, and draw my will inward."
Elcyrion, the Erudite says, "I caught Her by surprise, and in the instant of an
instant that it took Her to asses what had happened and strike forward to
devour me, I set free my mind, and willed myself to scatter on the winds,
sending my very essence dispersing across all of the First World. Effectively
disappearing before Her gaping maw."
Elcyrion, the Erudite says, "I knew I had failed you, I tried to hold Her off
for longer, I attempted to buy you more time, but I was sure you werent ready
yet when I failed, and I was certain She devoured you."
Elcyrion, the Erudite says, "Yet, here you stand, alive and well..."
Lacostian turns away from Elcyrion, taking a moment to gather His thoughts.
Elcyrion turns His head towards Kalodan and His eyes shine brightly for a
moment. Kalodan suddenly shoots into the air with terrifying speed, his scream
gradually fading as he vanishes in the vast expanse of the firmament.
Lacostian, the Mysterial Lord sadly says, "Pearl of Wisdom Those words, it has
been aeons since I last heard them from one of my own kind."
A single teardrop coalesces in the corner of Lacostian's eyes.
Lacostian turns to face Elcyrion once more, a look of grave concern eclipses
His features.
Lacostian, the Mysterial Lord says, "She did descend upon us quickly, as did
many of Her kind."
Lacostian, the Mysterial Lord says, "You were so naive in believing that
eminent destruction was not upon us. If only you had listened to me sooner...
If only we wouldve had more time..."
Lacostian, the Mysterial Lord says, "You fought Her well, dear brother, your
efforts were not in vain."
Lacostian, the Mysterial Lord says, "While you fought I was manipulating the
fields of Magic which run through the very fabric of this world, as you
undoubtedly remember so well. My workings were not fast enough, my care for you
distracted my mind with worry for your safety."
Lacostian, the Mysterial Lord says, "I tried to meld the fields faster, using
precise will, with as much strength as I could muster. As the end approached, I
felt your presence tearing away from me, our bond as twins slowly dwindling
like a wilted orchid. I knew then if I did not release the field upon Her you
would surely be consumed."
Lacostian, the Mysterial Lord says, "Yet I waited a moment too late; you were
gone in the blink of an eye. The bond now gone, I could no longer sense you.
Even now, as you stand before me, that bond is no more, there is no hint, not
even breath of what we once were."
Lacostian, the Mysterial Lord angrily says, "A fire fuelled within me, as I
willed myself further into the collective fields of energy, I drew stronger,
willing every fibre of my being into the casting. My rage took on an intensity
I have never felt since, the energies fuelled my anger, and my anger fuelled
the energies in an infinite cycle of power."
Lacostian, the Mysterial Lord says, "These raw energies ignited the unfinished
spell I had woven, sending of a cataclysm as I could never have imagined, the
fires igniting the conduits I had laid, churning in on themselves to create
ever greater quantities of power. Part of me screamed I might rip reality
itself apart, but I did not care."
Lacostian, the Mysterial Lord says, "Then She noticed me, turned Her hunger
upon my waiting form, and swooped down on me, and as she did, I released the
wave upon Her."
Lacostian, the Mysterial Lord very sadly says, "I still shake thinking about
it, I can still feel the raw power ripping through the fabric of reality,
searing threads of Time and Space as if they had never existed. The ether
itself burned away in the intensity, several mountains were leveled in the
after blast and entire seas evaporated in an instant."
Lacostian, the Mysterial Lord says, "The Soulless had the complete amount of my
weave hit Her square on, and not even her infinite hunger was able to protect
Her from this onslaught, scattering Her essence like dust on the wind, the
detritus left to be consumed by the other Soulless."
Lacostian, the Mysterial Lord says, "It was over, you were destroyed, and all
was devoid of life within me. With nothing more I left for the Akashic, I
severed it from this world and cast myself adrift. I exiled myself from the
first World, perhaps to relieve the pain of failing my lost Brother, or perhaps
to find some meaning to my own sempiturnal existence once more."
Lacostian, the Mysterial Lord says, "I went into a deep state of meditation,
closing my mind to the world, deafening myself to calls of the very Akashic. I
was for all purposes gone from existence myself. Eventually I drew myself out
of my stasis, and began to study the glimpses of the Akashic, the memories of
the first world. This was not before I noticed the changes in myself. My exile
changed me in more ways than one, least of which is the form you see before
you."
Lacostian, the Mysterial Lord says, "Eventually I returned, awoke again to the
call of the First World, Lusternia hailed me. But that is another story. You
are my Brother, Elcyrion, the ancient Erudite, as you claim to be."
Lacostian, the Mysterial Lord says through happy tears, "I have missed you..."
Lacostian embraces Elcyrion with great ardour.
Lacostian, the Mysterial Lord says, "Come, my Brother, allow me to fill you in

Elcyrion, the Erudite says, "Let us, my brother."
Lacostian beckons Elcyrion to Him.

The Intellectual and Pacifistic deity known as the Erudite did not enter
Lusternia from the Void like the other Elder Gods. Instead, Elcyrion
manifested on the prime material after His essence had spent uncounted
ages scattered on the winds after His demise in the Elder wars. Now
largely restored, the manifestation of the Erudite still reflects his
history, consisting completely of translucent air, forming the spectre of
a wise sage whose appearance billows in an invisible breeze. Despite His
altered appearance, Elcyrion's teachings and beliefs remain unchanged;
still centred around the two main tenets of Peace and Self Enlightenment.
Elcyrion believes that all conflict is a waste of time and effort, and
that only from peace will the salvation of Dynara's children spring forth.
As such, the Erudite promotes diplomacy and acceptance among His
followers, in the hope that people will one day understand the
wastefulness of violence over differing ideologies. Despite this, Elcyrion
understands that there are times when taking up arms is unavoidable, but
until the day the Soulless Gods return, Elcyrion intends to resist the
senseless bloodshed that drenches the history of Elder Gods and mortal
races alike.
Elcyrion teaches that wisdom and understanding of both oneself and the
world is the only way in which one will ever reach one's full potential.
The Erudite does not believe in restrictions and encourages His followers
to strengthen their philosophies and understandings in debate, whilst
remaining respectful and accepting of other people's beliefs. Beyond the
theoretical however, one should always be careful, for even the wisest
cannot see all ends, and as a catalyst, one is responsible for what one
sets in motion. Reality depends on the observer and as such, there is no
absolute Truth, the genuinely wise can think outside these borders and
gaze upon the true Enlightenment of Elcyrion.
Elcyrion's symbol is a pure white quill, representing wisdom in its symbol
and peace in its colour. Sometimes, this symbol is seen depicted on a blue
field, representing the Erudite's rebirth from the air and the freedom
that inspires one to find solutions outside the traditional and
established order.

theoretical however, one should always be careful, for even the wisest
cannot see all ends, and as a catalyst, one is responsible for what one
sets in motion. Reality depends on the observer and as such, there is no
absolute Truth, the genuinely wise can think outside these borders and
gaze upon the true Enlightenment of Elcyrion.
Elcyrion's symbol is a pure white quill, representing wisdom in its symbol

field, representing the Erudite's rebirth from the air and the freedom
that inspires one to find solutions outside the traditional and
established order.
