Wisp/Flow Changes

by Ethelon

Back to Common Grounds.

Ethelon2005-10-18 03:07:33
Well, it seems that everyone, from both sides agrees that this change needs to be reverted. I can understand how it makes Wisp more fair now since both sides could attempt to use it, but now we are back to the old raiding like when Glomdoring first opened and we got slaughtered because we had noway to stop the raiders...

Also, though this was funny...
QUOTE(Shikari)
As for griefing itself. Griefing is basically where someone does something which gives their opponent no chance to even vaguely compete. Examples (from the extended gaming world) include 'spawn camping' and 'teamkilling'. Aren't you glad we don't have either of those here?

A group of censor.gif sat north of Rowena today and apparently beckoned and jumped people as they logged in. Good job guys...

Post nicely please.

Agreed, this is making life nasty.

*serens walk into Glomdoring*
*we all die*

And DON'T tell me we should all learn how to fight.
Narsrim2005-10-18 03:10:51
Glomdoring could just huddle in a group of 30+ guards, no one is going to raid that. I agree it sucks, but you guys could do more. You have 60 worthless guards on Ethereal guarding Night Avatars that could instead be used to swarm around the Ravenwood making it a guard-nightmare.

Anyhoo, I DEFINATELY VOTE FOR THIS TO BE CHANGED BACK. I despise its current form if only because I would rather have a defensive advantage than an offensive possibility. I don't like it and I don't think its more fair - at all. If anything, I think it is very unfair to druids.

Changes are always closely watched for this reason. Frustration at less than stellar tactics, while obviously upsetting, should not drive you to be rude on the forums. Try to keep your emotions in check, if only so the proper admin will be able to stand to read the posts on the subject. A cool head will get you farther than a heated tongue.

Unless you're a dragon.

Aye, I would also like to see the change to be reversed, though it would be good if Glom novices could still flow in taintforest.

I'm still curious about the reasons why it was changed though.

Agreed. Completely.
Xavius2005-10-18 03:22:38
I remember the days before city shields and karma, when everyone was afraid to walk off of a monolith for fear of being summoned. I was less afraid then than now. I can't stand on a monolith and be safe. I can't watch for the summon message and be safe. I can't trust other people to be cautious and be safe. I can't even huddle in the guards because flow keeps the same elevation. There is no more safety so long as there are still ethereal forests outside of defended territory.
Richter2005-10-18 03:28:11
Glomdoring is not safe, Deepnight is not safe. I'm going to live at the portal of fate now.

Hmm, that's a good point. A lot of manses have ethereal forest in them. sad.gif

room with a mono and 15+ guards = safe.

Not really. Room with a mono and 15+ guards is still very vulnerable to a druid smart enough to climb before flowing.
Munsia2005-10-18 03:35:22
Flow into glomdoring. Flow out of glomdoring. defenders flow out of glomdoring. forest. SLAUGHTERFEST anyone else see whats wrong with that?

Yay. That's fun for all! I bet the novices will love being told they can't move from mono'd rooms with guards. dry.gif

Now you know better than that. I don't attack novices. In fact, I usually don't initiate an attack period. I flow in and yell something to get your guys attention and hope you are willing to flow/chase me out of Glomdoring, declare me, attack me, etc.

I didn't gain one suspect killing 7 Glomdorians. That's because I didn't declare a single one or attack em first. smile.gif

That was the problem when flow worked regardless of forest-type. At least, that's why I wanted it changed.

Really low of you to take advantage of this change Narsrim when you yourself want it changed also. Considering the fact you can have a coven in Serenwilde set up for resurgem, this is practically a party for you, like they made this change just so you can kill till your heart is content.
Munsia2005-10-18 03:39:32
There was a coven in serenwilde? mellow.gif
