Can anybody help me? I'm having trouble creating a character and logging in. It says that my connection has failed. Any ideas? Thanks

No, seriously, you'll have to give a bit more information... what client are you using? Are you actually hitting the option to create character?

I'm using nexus(?). It's the link that's on the front page of the Lusternia site(in right column at the bottom). I'm using IE if that helps. Thanks.

It says "Error connecting: Connection refused: connect"

I've never heard of anyone having problems with character creation in Nexus... you're clicking the create character button, I take it. Could you be behind any firewalls or anything that might be blocking the connection in whole or part?

Perhaps. I am using a school computer. I'm trying to find out how to change those settings but I can't seem to locate them :|

That's most likely the problem, then; there's probably a firewall or filter blocking you from doing that. I'd try registering on a home computer or one that you know doesn't have anything that would stop you.

If your on a school computer it most likely is behind some kind of firewall, and most likely the only one that'd be able to change anything about it would the school's system administrator, who most likely wouldn't be appreciative of people using the schools internet to mud, best bet would be make the character from home, then you can connect to it from school

Sadly, if he cannot connect from school to create the character, it would be logical that he won't be able to use Nexus from school at all.
If the port 23 is blocked, maybe you can ask your school admin to unlock it because you need to do some work on another machine using telnet, but he won't probably fall for that unless you're into computers or play the fool very convincently.
