I hope everyone in Florida is watching Wilma very, very closely - she's reached an all time low pressure, shattering records on wind speed and in other areas. This isn't a hurricane to screw around with.
For the first time in my life, I'm actually giving a damn, and bought my parents plane tickets out of Florida. Realize, I hate my parents, but I won't let myself feel guilty of them getting smooshed by a bunch of wind and rain.
All of my friends are getting ready to evacuate. If it's still heading for us come friday morning, we're all tailin' it up to Jacksonville, then Georgia if need be.
For the rest of you Floridians - be safe. Please.

Yea, Wilma is looking all ominous. Usually we just stay and wait it out. We've done that every time, except for last year--Anyway, not sure what we are going to do for Wilma, but thanks for the thought, and you be safe too! (Go to Alabama instead of Georgia, it makes you want to shoot potato guns and shuck corn--That's what I did when we left for the hurricanes last year. (I was one with my inner country bumpkin)

Kyle..
Come see me! And be safe..

Hurricanes suck, especially lately. I was going to say something nice, or meaningful, but I can't remember what it was going to be.
So, stay safe, I suppose.

Heh, yeah, don't go to Georgia. Alabama's actually better believe it or not.
Raezon2005-10-20 01:43:11
My uncle/aunt live in Alabama. If there were like awesome people there seeking refuge, I might have to throw my bike in the car and drive over. Biking in Alabama is the bestest.
Joli2005-10-20 01:46:24
Should all come see me.. I'll even clean my basement and we can play Lusternia together.
Athana2005-10-20 02:13:59
Wow, Wilma..I can't believe we're already in the W's Yes, and we were talking about this hurricane in U.S. History class...scary stuff, isn't this the largest one to ever be recorded or something like that? Anyway, hope everyone gets out okay..
Stangmar2005-10-20 03:54:24
Strongest, not largest.
Well, maybe largest too.

Did anyone else think of the flintstones??
Richter2005-10-20 04:07:22
No.
And they said this one is MASSIVE. Or was it HUGE. Anyway, it was one of those, biggest or strongest ever recorded in that area.

And it's not hitting me for once!
I'm so glad it's staying away from New Orleans and the Gulf. They've had enough to last them for a while.

I did think of the Flintstones. Then again, I always thought Wilma was scary.
Surely all this crazy weather can't be coincidental. Climate change, anyone?

Yeah, I was wondering why all of the hurricanes just got uber strong this year. Wonder what is causing it.. -chin- I hope they aren't worse next year.
Unknown2005-10-20 04:33:50
It took me a moment to realize that you were talking about the name of the hurricane when you mentioned the flinstones, Joli. I thought it was in referance to Stangmar saying "big and powerful". Not sure how I would have interpreted that if I didn't realize I was wrong

Hurricane theme party, Flinstones, actually. I'm going as Fred, and dieing my hair with temp black. it'll be awesome.I was tempted to go as the red-headed she-devil Herself, but my first cross-dressing experience is being saved for the RENT movie opening.
However, I'm drunk right now - if my spelling does not betray me, it's because I'm typing with my eyes closed - my keys are memorized, I'm a hunt and pecker. Anyway, ya'll be safe, I love a'll, I'm going to Boca. Be good, be safe, etc.
Floridians, if you live near boca... send me a PM. We're deff gettin' crunked.

I had a really weird thought about this in high school, but hurricanes are becoming a sensitive topic with them getting worse and worse so I don't think I'll address it.
Raezon2005-10-20 18:03:42
We're approaching the next ice age... I hope you have warm clothes.

on that note, move to Australia, our biggest disaster is when the booze runs out and the last bottle-o closes in 10 mins
its a matter of who's the least likely to get pulled over for DUI
