Welcome to The Taint Wars

Any role or variation thereof found in POSSIBLE ROLES may or may not be in this game. There may also be secret twists you don’t know about until they happen.

The RULES
1. No quoting the mod. This means, no copying and pasting your PMs from me into your posts.
2. There will be no discussion outside of this thread, except at night, and only those whose roles say they can discuss at night can and only with those their role states they can talk with.
3. There will be a lynch when there is a majority vote. Once there is a majority vote, STOP TALKING. There is to be no discussion about the game in the thread in twilight or at night. (I will keep up to date with votecounts and how many it takes to lynch will be posted in the votecounts).
4. Once you are dead, you are dead. STOP TALKING. You may post once to give a ghostly cheer to your team after your role is revealed, but nothing else.
5. You may vote NO LYNCH if you want to move on to the next day without a lynch.
6. All votes and unvotes must be bolded or they will not count. Also, you must unvote before voting someone else or your vote will not change. Format should be in the form of vote: Joe and unvote: Joe
7. Please do not edit your posts. I consider it cheating and it does affect gameplay. If you make a mistake, too bad. I can’t necessarily catch you at this, but please try to be a good sport about it.
8. I will place a deadline if there is too much inactivity during the day. If a deadline is hit, the person with the most votes (at least ½ of a majority) will be lynched, otherwise it will be a no lynch. If two people have the same number of votes and ½ a majority, the first to have reached the number of votes will be lynched.
9. If you break my rules, I will modkill you. I don’t care what your role is.
10. The mod is always right, except when I’m wrong.
11. You must post at least once every 36 hours during the day portions of the game.
12. Have fun!

Is the Taint all that threatens the peoples of the Basin? Of course not! Pursuits of power aren’t merely made of the essence of Kethuru. Political plotting, sabotage, and other unknown activities create a destruction all their own. Recently there have been obscure deaths unrelated to the growing threat of the Taint. Whispers in behind closed doors lead to misery and oppression. Other whispers are filled with worry and confusion. Because of this, twelve of you have come together in an attempt to sort out the underlying evil that plagues the Basin of Life. You’re determined to discover who is responsible and stamp out their cause, freeing the people of the Basin to live in what harmony might be left after the scourge of the Taint.

Note: The Tainted are not present among you.

Night 1 has begun, please PM choices to me ASAP

You all awake to a sunshine filled day and everyone alive.

A shout is heard, "Freedom to the people!"

Good morning.

With 12 alive, it's 7 for a lynch.
Unknown2005-10-21 00:16:33
Well, hello everyone smile.gif.

Who should we lynch first, then?
Revan2005-10-21 00:17:47
Being as there's absolutely nothing to go by right now, I say we hold off lynching until we get some viable proof against someone. That or we could just blindly accuse...
Vix2005-10-21 00:19:04
Too tired... haven't had my morning booze yet and all I have is kamikaze death whiskey when I really want absinthe. sad.gif

Since it's the first day and we don't really know stuff, we should probably not lynch anyone.
Unknown2005-10-21 00:25:19
Gah we go over this every game; there is no point holding off on lynching. We learn more by lynching people and hearing what is said than by sitting around twiddling our thumbs.
Revan2005-10-21 00:29:22
Well, are there any scriers present that could at least enlighten us before we jump to a lynch?
Vix2005-10-21 00:32:20
Is there anyone else awake right now? unsure.gif
Unknown2005-10-21 00:32:54
That depends on two things; whether they were lucky enough to scry someone of interest, and whether they want to put themself at risk on night two.

I suppose we should have a protector or two, though, so as long as they stay hidden and do their scrier should be fine.

Yarr. I be tainted. Or a political scumbag. Or some combination of the two, which would make me Nokraenom.

blink.gif You're... aaaaah! Intruder!

Anyways. Nobody died last night. That gives us a bit of a breather. When it's argued that we should be voting, we're already losing people. If we don't randomly choose someone today, we'll have the "standard" first day situation. The real question is if we will learn enough to make it worth holding off.

Personally, I'm not going to vote yet. I'll just FOS all of those who aren't speaking, preferring to do something like sleep, eat, or work. Let's get a conversation movin'!
Revan2005-10-21 01:07:32
Well, all I can say is... if we have a scrier, let them step forward if they found a tainted, and we'll hope we have protectors. Until then, what is there to be done? No one died, so we don't have too much to go by
Unknown2005-10-21 01:09:55
Will the unyielding wisdom of our Mod ever yield? Clearly not, what with it's unyielding nature and all.

Random vote: Vix

She has shifty eyes tongue.gif.
Vix2005-10-21 01:13:38
Pah. Darn me and my eyes. I still say No lynch for this first day.
Xenthos2005-10-21 01:21:37
Heh. Well, would you care to discuss the reason for a no lynch? We can have a little debate, draw in other people and see what shakes out.

Pros:
1) We don't lose anything, we start tomorrow as if it was the first day (due to no deaths last night).
2) We get more time to discuss without lynching someone we can't afford to lose.

Cons:
1) Can we give up the chance to move ahead?
2) Will we get anywhere with the extra time?

I'm inclined to say that we should end up lynching someone, gives us a chance to get another step ahead of the taint. It is a risk, however.
Vix2005-10-21 01:24:53
There is a high chance of us lynching an innocent person at the moment, and as you said, we may end up lynching an important person. We don't have much info now at the moment so there isn't much we can do.
Unknown2005-10-21 01:30:19
I'd rather lose someone, even chancing that they are important, and have some information to go off. Sitting here not doing anything really does give people the chance to sit back and take it easy.

That said, down with lurkers!

unvote: vix, vote: Kiarlea

Wake up!
Revan2005-10-21 01:32:46
Quidgy seems awfully eager to start killing people

Edit: Especially when he's stating that he doesn'tcare about the reprecussions
