Why not have flow work in all natural environments (mountains, forest, rivers, etc) that are within two areas (an example would be someone would be able to flow from southern Serenwilde to northern Serenwilde by using the the Moon River as the pathway connecting the two areas, this would also allow someone to go from the Razines to Southern Serenwilde as well, seeing as the Moon Rivers source is located there). This would allow for some movement from place to place (maybe not as fast as some desire, but oh well...). This would make sense because it is the NATURE skillset, not a skillset called FOREST (the blend ability should also follow this rule in my opinion), and last I checked, rivers and mountains are considered a natural environments. This is just my opinion, and I think it would be a fair compromise instead of something that works in a very limited area.

Before we had Blend, we had Camouflage ... which worked mostly (it disappeared if you went indoors) as Blend does, but in all outdoor natural environments. Reportedly, though I haven't been around long enough to have had experience, Flow also used to work in more natural environments rather than just forest. I know it used to be forest and garden, but that was when I came in.

In the beginning flow use to work EVERYWHERE as long as the person you were flowing to was in the forest. I could be in Celest and use it if I wanted.

The trick would probably be the coding involved. From the novice education I have on the matter, the game loves to seperate things by areas (thus why long distance moves are either local Plane, local Area, or Everywhere). I don't think the game REALY knows that Northern Serenwilde is next to Southern Serenwilde, just that they are two seperate areas.
If so, then to make the game look at whether someone is 'two areas away', it would require coding to make the system more 'aware' of where everything is. It's possible, and perhaps something good to set up in the long run but it might fall under 'they have better things to do'.
I CAN see flow working on any natural area (forest, mountains, ext) in local area though.

Even though this idea will probably get jumped on like all the others, why not have you can flow through multipule areas with flow, and have using blend at the time the requirement to actually be able to flow, like Shadowdancers need to have garb up to use Flight. Then also change it so if you have specialized in Moon or Hart, you can only flow in natural forest, if you have specialized in Night or Crow, only infested forests, and if neither specialized, you can flow in both, which will allow novices to flow.
