ANNOUNCE NEWS #460

Subj: Equilibrium, Balance, Psionic Channels, etc
After many days of testing a bug was discovered that could allow
balance/equilibrium/etc to be faster than should be possible for the
lucky, or slower for the unlucky. Those that like to timestamp a lot
probably have noticed what I mean, where each usage of the same ability,
by the same person, could have DRASTICALLY different balance times. This
has been corrected, and thank you to all that posted detailed reports on
these things, it was with your posts that we were able to recognize and
pin point this error.

Diamante 'd you by a whole minute.
Shiri2005-11-02 06:09:59
I bet that was more like 10 seconds and the minute turned at the wrong time.
And I was busy on MSN!

Icarus2005-11-02 06:13:43
Thanks Hajamin! I hope I was one of the unlucky ones.
Terenas2005-11-02 06:14:22
Thank you! Finally, it took forever but at least Mugwumps are fixed now.
Narsrim2005-11-02 06:14:28
Anyone noticed a big difference? I must have been one of those people who were in the middle because nothing seems all that faster or slower... its about the same.
Unknown2005-11-02 06:15:46
Anyone going to post some Mugwump speed tests after the changes, to compare?
Hajamin2005-11-02 06:16:36
Basicly to explain it simply, you should no longer see the varying eq/balance/etc times. With extended testing I had seen up to 50% variance both above and below what the casting time should have been, in some cases. For most you shouldn't notice anything, but those 1.5-2 second casting of staff for the lucky is gone.
Unknown2005-11-02 06:47:55
Thankyou, Hajamin. This sounds wonderful.
Eyod2005-11-02 09:45:25
well, my nature curse time seemed more consistant. but I didn't stamp it so It could have just been my perception.
Shiri2005-11-02 09:47:37
And Sylphas just checked and apparently a furrikin Moondancer will gain one Waning or Lash every 16 times (1/4 second gain on the base 4, roughly), but strangely one shield every 3.55 seconds.
Eiru2005-11-02 09:56:44
Actually, I was able to nightkiss, shield, shield, shield, nightkiss, shield, basically forever without being hit in the cats.
That is no longer the case...
But this is still an awesome fix, and I'm all for it, I did notice the difference by the way, though it's not that great.
Now, let's fix furrikin writhing and tumbling! Whee.
Thanks again Hajamin, and all other admins .
