Ideas for Elemental Planes

Idea one: Elemental Villages. The Gorgogs move and create villages upon the Earth and Water (and the other) planes. These villages would be like normal villages save the whole revolting process and power giving. Within these villages could be obelisks that connect them to both the Catacombs and to the other elemental Villages.

Idea two: Elemental quests. Simple quests that give players a boost to their max power reserve (as if they had a power gem).

Idea three: Elemental quests that affect the abilities of the mages. One quest to weaken the general strength of the plane, and another to strengthen it. Again, there would need to be more connections between the two planes for this.

I like these ideas, but I think we need to start with elemental expansion. The place is too small right now. We need it to be 3x its current size to really add in this sorta stuff.
Daganev2005-11-08 21:12:57
Actually I was sort of thinking that each village would take up one room. and Quests would consist of just talking to one mob and never moving tongue.gif

Walking is for loosers

Teasing for those who can't tell.

If you make a village, you would obviously need to create paths to get to that village and the like. Especially to expalin its sudden existance.

Idea 4) Make the Lords holler on channels when you're killin em wink.gif

How would this work?
Daganev2005-11-09 02:31:07
If you own a gem, you can have a max of 125% reserves. So for some X amount of time (same as the lenght of getting the toscha blessing) you would be capable of holding 125% power.
Unknown2005-11-09 02:33:29
But you can only get to 125% reserves by the gem's power input. If you own a gem and are on 105%, you can't link to an Astral node and get any more.
Daganev2005-11-09 02:37:30
You sure? Thats seems odd to me.
Unknown2005-11-09 02:38:29
From what I remember when I was able to get above 30% reserves, aye, that is how it works.

I wanna see the air and fire planes.

But planar villages would be fun, especially if that mean't a way to weaken a mage *evil giggle* perhaps the more you do a negative one the shorter mage demesne effects last. *dreams*

Only idea I like is expanding the planes and having quests that affect the abilities of mages and druids, just like the avatars and half-formed influence the skills that guardians and wiccans use.

Could add a couple of new skills to each mage specialization to be related to these quests, as well as assign a couple of existing ones to them.

For example, the cities could weaken the Spirit of Tree to soften up saplings. Give duststorm a nifty upgrade, but make it so that the upgrade is disabled when the earth lord of sand (I think there is one) is slain.

Would be interesting, to say the least.

We need some of the classic elemental creatures.
* The beings themselves, in free form. Not just summoned ones.

* Geniekind--yeah, they might exist in other IRE games, but Genies are archetypes, and you can always put a twist on 'em.

* Classic Elemetals--Sylphs, Undines, Gnomes, and Salamanders.

* Just more elemental forms of other creatures.

Definatly like the idea of linking the planes with the mages/druids. The villages...I'm not so sure. Any way we can add those quests without creating villages (which doesn't seem to make much sense to me realy)

Horrible idea. Cause Mag and Celest (well i dont know about celest) police the elementals.

And Serenwilde and Glom police the ethereal. I fail to see your point.

i would hope that this work in reverse actually, so you have to do something for the duststorm upgrade rather than it being simply handed out and the death of the lord of sand would first weaken duststorm then when he comes back it returns to its normal state
*holds up a sign*"Please don't suggest upgrading skills when there have been complaints about the set"

I was thinking the same thing plus perhaps some formless elementals, as in
Fire Elemental "A tall pillar of flame stands here, it appears to have the shape of a human" probably being high level non-agressive creatures essence giving. the corpses could be piles of stones/feathers/ash/(something watery)
Unknown2005-11-09 04:09:49
Don't throw in those cliche elemental things. Lusternia is supposed to be original, remember?

Who's been complaining about Geomancy, Aquamancy, and Druidry?
Saran2005-11-09 04:14:33
hehe but they are fun, and i dunno i just hear some people complain because geomancy is apparently the strongest demesne

EDIT: oh and really, next to nothing is original any more. yes, there are some quite good original ideas out there, but alot of what is on tv and in games is a combo platter of other sources. my favourite example is *mon tongue.gif, from what i remember pokemon or digimon is based of the other which is based on monster rancher which was based on Barcode battlers or something which was apparently the original monster training game

Any place could be considered a bashing ground when you think about it...where are the Lords for the communes anyway?
