wow! i just went to my cousin's house a little while ago and he had age of empires 3, and we played it(or rather, he played, i watched ) and it was amazing! the graphics and gameplay was so much better than aok, and it was based off of colonizing north america. even though i prefer the medieval ages of history, it was still very good. i liked the artillery, and how they had guns and bows, and...well, and everything. i wish they had more to do than just colonizing america, though. like having the indian wars(india, not native american) and chinese, and possibly the french napoleonic wars, though that's probably a little bit too late.
russians and brittish are probably my favourite to play(brittish get rockets and longbowmen!) and nootka and iroqouis for native americans, what about all you? what strategies and things do you like to use(or would you, if you've not got it yet.)?

i wish my computer was advanced enough to play the game if i got it...

The "Home Cities" thing looks nifty.

It doesn't look too graphic intensive when I look at the minimum reqs.

Is there a way to get a larger view of the game? I hate that you can't see more than 3 buildings at a time.

I think Page Down zooms you out, or just use your scrolly mouse to go down if you have one.

I just got jumped during a campaign mode so I decided to close it. I need to redo my exam anyway soon (Online exam, thankfully).

It's a fun game, and if you pause (I've only been able to by clicking the Menu button) it doesn't rape your RAM as much. I'll probably get a lot of "DUH" responses from that though.

Maybe its just me, but I'm not seeing whats so great about the game.

I was able to kill of my opponent with -only- cannons. A well balanced games should require I have pikeman to fend off the horses, cavalery to fend off the infantry and all that jazz. It shouldn't just be a race to building 5 cannons.

edit: One thing I do like however is that if you get enough guys chosen at once you don't have to tell them what formation to go in, and they just kinda know what to do.

Were you doing the "Learn how to Play" or the actual game?

I eventually just loaded up my ship with like 50 people and toasted the enemy on the practice, but in the actual game their damn explorer keeps coming to my base and I kill him.. so their army comes to rescue him by the dozens.

But I wanna kill him!

Ohh.. I didn't try Campaign. Maybe I should.. I doing Skirmish or whatever.

Campaing in the demo is only 2 levels, but it gives you a nice feel for it.

i got my mom to let me download the demo on her computer, and i've been playing it for a couple hours. really fun! i like the rockets just as i'd suspected. and this is the first game that the naval warfare is actually quite interesting in. in most games naval warfare is just "advance to highest and get most ships".
and i don't think it's whoever has the most cannons wins, their stupid roderlos kept killing mine so i had to back'em up with muskets. luckely the only thing the enemy ever builds is infantry for some reasone. i imagine the real game is much better. plus in the real game there's heavy bombards and organ guns and all that stuff...
i'm a fan of artillery

Hmm, maybe I'll try it again, but it still feels like a race to me.

I thought it was ok, not fantastic. Meh.
