I noticed in my last 2 spars against Munsia i got owned is there anything special i need to know about ecologists cause in about 3 or 4 minutes through the fight im out of mana, cant run do to pathtwist or something, and totally screwed for the fact bleeding is getting crazy?

Log all your fights so you can learn from them afterwards. If you did, post it here and lots of people will help you out.

Don't stay in the same room when she lights a smudge, use protection scrolls against the demesne. *chin* Watch out for swampsmudges. And you need a good curing against fetishes.

Tumble. Move when you see her drop a smudge, if you can. Gust should also help with smudges. Have as much mana regeneration as you can, make sure you don't have any unneccessary mana drains up (turn off surge and metawake and such), use chervil as much as possible. Shield whore if need be.

Also, I've found treelife is a bitch when you're trying to smudge, unless you set up timers or something. Use that to your advantage if you can. Swing up before the smudge hits, then down a second later. Keep levitation up for valley smudge, or you'll be in a world of pain when you get a concussion with a fetish hitting you.

I'd keep on offense as much as possible, keep her from being able to just drop smudge after smudge after smudge, or you will bleed to death.

No, fetishes are like cudgels, but they afflict instead of doing damage. You can use certain poisons with them and you can fling two poisons at once too. Actually pretty evil. But most chooseable poisons aren't too great, there are only three or four really good. Like Morphite.

So getting cracked elbow or chopping the arm off is the best anwser to them?

If she doesn't cure it, yap, yap.

The thing is. to do any real damage to me you have to stay in the room and not hit me. If I can tank you I dont move. Ashteru if you tell people to watch out for swamp you should be slapped. who uses swamp?! It's only good against runners and they run before it stops

I cure blindness just fine the second spar and until i get my new sword damage seems to be out of the question since the most i ever done is 800 with assault with 236 damage.

Wait wait, swamp wasn't the one that gets cleansed before sap?

That's hills. Desert is deadlier really, with blindness and 300 bleeding. Problem with Sap and Hillssmudge is that Hills is ground only, Sap is trees only (if they fixed it), so you time things exactly right or it doesn't help you much.

I've done it quite often but yes Desert is any ecologists favorite since it can kill just about anyone in a group battle

Against people with a clue? You'd have to time treelife and swarm to hit with the smudge, and hope they're there and not shielded when it goes off. Otherwise they just cleanse before Sap hits.

It is a matter of using hills in at the right time. It is possible to hills (without treelife so you don't have to worry about it) and then raise right as it hits. If you have fast equilibrium and good timing, the target will only have a split second to get out of trees because you can then sap, vines, stagstomp, treebane.

Another neat trick I'd love to see used is a druid who doesn't use Storm (since Storm is the only effect that wakes up a sleeping target in the Druid demesne). Once the target is sapped (with or without hills), you can just berserk/fire morphite at him or her till you have them sleeping without kafe. With faeriefire, you will be able to see immediately when the target wakes so you can just morphite again and knock them back out. While doing this, you can just whore desert. With squirrels/vines (if you again raised), the target is screwed.

I use a modified combo like this with aeon/sleep. It would be so much nastier with sleep/sap.

And I still love my melancholic softlock. Yumyum. Together with scarab then sap and epilepsy, it's impressive...

I've so devised a neat trick to fight Druids. I'll just make my sylph target me and anything I get tossed into trees, she'll go bananas and gust me down.

yeh i fell victim to ashteru in the arena once, but that was when i agreed to fight with no love potion and i didn't have a scroll of protection.

On that note though...when you see the smudges coming, just shield whore till they bugger off.

Given that you can just keep stacking smudges, I don't see how that works in the long run.

Yeah, the third time, I should've agreed not to use treelife. :/ I just suck when my opponent has lovepotion up, especially with slower eq.
It didn't help that I didn't regain balance for 30 secs as well...
