The Tsu'chi Monastery is in the process of being built. It will be a place that any may visit if they find themselves without a place to go. There will be food and drink available, as well as beds to rest upon. There will be multiple training halls and within those halls will be multiple training sessions, which anyone from any organisation may attend, as long as they abide by the rules of the Monastery.
For most, this will be a temporary place to visit. Yet I am offering to accept students in the monastery. Skills must be non-specific to any organisation, and so it will generally be mercenaries who would make the Tsu'chi Monastery a permanent home. I will mostly reside in that place now.
However I, unlike Richter, will not be able to sustain the Tsu'chi Monastery by myself. There is a huge amount of building to do, and the money to pay Tully to clean the place every few months has to come from somewhere. So I am asking each and every one of you, if you ever have a spare gold sovereign or two, and would like to see the magnificent Tsu'chi Monastery bring a tranquil and calm sanctum into a Basin crowded with violent thoughts and actions, a donation would be greatly appreciated. Whether it's a single sovereign, or a thousand sovereigns, each will aid the process of this creation.
The Tsu'chi Monastery will eventually house:
- 10 seperate bedrooms. Each will be equipped with a bed, drapes, and a rug.
- 5 training halls.
- 2 'changing' rooms.
- 1 shop.
- 1 pathway surrounded by flowerbeds. (Seeds)
- A training glade within the garden. (Endurance)
- A tranquil spot within the garden. (Willpower) (Private)
- One room of worship for each Divine that has entered the Basin.
- More, once this is built. I have much more planned that is not on the map yet. "One step at a time.", he said.
That picture is awfully small. Hmm.

Bah. I'm making my own thread!
Good luck though, you're going to need it. *mutters about 22500000 gold*

Sounds like orc mischief to me.
In seriousness, you should be careful of your placements of the Divine rooms, otherwise you might get some Order fighting going on!

One of the rules that'll be within the Monastery is that it remain a tranquil and peaceful environment. Anyone who enters the Monastery must maintain the tranquil nature of the Monastery, or face removal and a ban.
If anyone can suggest a way to make that picture full-size, or if anyone could host the picture, I'd be glad.

If we fully pay for a room can we have it permanent ? I like the idea behind it its that im not a mercenary or willing to get a room in richters manse.
Richter2005-11-13 20:26:14
What's being a "mercenary" got to do with it? *eye*
I love the idea Soll, and I hope it goes well for you. I'm still going to try to make you put it in Deepnight though.

Certainly, you may. I would be more than happy for you to have a room to yourself, within the Monastery.
Being a mercenary is the whole idea of it. Anyone who wants to make permanent residence within the Monastery and be a Tsu'chi Monk/Mercenary needs to have no official ties with any city or commune. Mercenaries are the only ones who can do that effectively, since they have skills with general power usage, not nexus-specific.
The Monastery is a place where Soll will be working towards transcending himself physically, mentally, and spiritually. And he hopes that he can help others do the same, if they so wish. It is a safehold for those who do not fit into any other city or commune to date.

Ah, I get it. But doesn't that limit it to 1/4th of the population, and only those that would choose hunting? That seems so small of a percentage of people right now, I'm not sure anyone has done that.
Maybe you could start trying to make warriors take hunting, make them go rogue, and have them join up? *shrug*

Soll2005-11-13 20:33:04
Any other warriors who agree with and accept the cause would come under the 'Honourary member' section of the clan. Those that forego entirely the city and take hunting will be those that I would offer to take as students as pay for their food, drink, and some supplies that they should need in their time within the monastery.
Yes. There is (will be) free food and drinks available to all those that find themselves stuck, and those that dedicate themselves to the Monastery will be fed, watered, and given a place to rest by me. If you need a hand, just pop in and I'll see what can be done to help.
There will also be one lesson which focuses upon the bond between pet and person, which will of course be tracking only. Hence the mercenary fits this Monastery the best. As I mentioned before, there will occasionally be training sessions open to the public, and they'll be announced somehow. Anyone can attend, and I believe it'd just be really good fun.

Another note is that all official members will receive a free uniform that must be worn within the Monastery when it is complete. That is why there are two changing rooms. One female, one male. (Hmm. manse set door perms north male ) Anyone visiting, when complete, will be asked to remove their shoes, at least, and rack their weapons. Or atleast sheathe them. This will be one of the rules within the Monastery, as it is a tranquil and calm place, where all work for the same goal.
Unknown2005-11-13 20:50:25
I was under the impression rogues cannot get pets.
Soll2005-11-13 20:52:27
We'll cover that part when we get there. I might have to plead with Estarra for a Tsu'chi Kennel, since mercenaries are meant to be viable with Hunting.
Vix2005-11-13 20:53:15
Ooh, what kind of dogs would you get?
Soll2005-11-13 20:55:58
Fearsome!
or
Honestly? Haven't decided. It would have to be something neutral, though, to represent the neutrality of the Tsu'chi monks. That's if Estarra would even allow it.

I highly, highly doubt you'll get a kennel. Lusternia does not endorse Mercenary groups. Tracking IS viable - the hound is not the main part of Tracking. It's the traps.
Vix2005-11-13 20:57:21
Richter's going to request a kennel now.

It'd be nice, but I know that what you say is very likely correct, and even if a kennel was created for mercenaries, it would also be very unlikely it would be in the Tsu'chi monastery. Although, if we're going to go into details, I am acting like the Tsu'chi are a guild.

Acting like and actually being are two very different things. Kalo can act like he's an Elder God - but is he? nooo. Even if people acted like he was an Elder God, he isn't.
I'm simply saying, don't get your hopes up.

I've asked for a bank, a newsroom, a roulette table, and a blackjack table, the answer was no. I wish we could get interesting things like kennels in manses, but I don't think they'll let us. And rogues can still use thier pets (I have a wolf, and I switched back to night), but I cannot use the skills, nor can I find it or get a new one.

Right, I guess I should have said they cannot GET new pets.
EDIT: And for some reason, I think yours is on Avechna's peak somewhere.
