Almost all demesne affects only affect the area they're put up in, how about summon as well? So much opportunity for abuse, as it stands... stretch your demesne out to the road in village influencing and instantly summon all the enemy influencers into a statue and a group, ect.

Not to mention Kaervas' multi-planar demesne from the Catacombs into Shallach. -That- could cause quite a few issues with summon.
Munsia2005-11-24 00:06:19
Kaervas said it wasnt his fault.. that screwy demesne but when I removed some of it he put it back up Kaervas quit playing with stuff you know is bugged. you dont need shallach demesned
Edit: Ya.. Same with sands.. since I have found no bloody way around it. Not even sixth sense stops the sands from hiding the exits.. that needs to be if yer in the local area too

Demesne summon should definately be local area. Duststorm should be local area (it currently does not blind out of the local area, but it still obscures the exists). And finally, demesnes need some automatic mechanism that forces unattached parts to unmeld. I am sick and tired of demesnes that shouldn't exist:
For example, let's use Astral. If I meld Cancer -> Scorpio while they are connected, I can have a demesne that spans two astrospheres (which constitute two local areas). If Cancer and Scorpio sever, I have a single demesne that is now in two chuncks. The effects will only hit in the chunck that has the center, however, you can still demesne summon; demesne travel; demesne center; or activate the demesne from the non-centered chunck.
Basically, I feel that a demesne should automatically unmeld any parts that are not directly attached to the center. Demesnes are supposed to be connected such that A-B-C not A-B and C is out here by itself.

Most of us want that

Have you tried, you know, bugging this? I think they made it fairly clear that the intent was for demenses to only work in one area at a time.
Sylphas2005-11-24 06:09:32
I can see how you'd get a multi-sphere demesne, but how in Nil did you get a multiplanar demesne? I never even thought to check, but I had assumed if it wasn't one of the standard directions, it wasn't adjacent, and wouldn't meld.

the spot in the catacombs is like this.
there's a seal. s s s s there is a locked door up. open door up up. now you are on prime. the exits connect so the demesne is allowwed
Sylphas2005-11-24 06:20:26
Why the hell is there a normal, cross-planar exit?
Munsia2005-11-24 06:21:34
Dunno

Believe me, Magnagora was surprised when we discovered the ruins, went down and Narsrim moonbeamed in on us as we were taking our tour of the Catacombs.

I have bugged this and have an active issue against a certain person for continually doing it.
Shamarah2005-11-24 11:40:49
I agree with this.
silimaur2005-11-24 14:09:25
hrm a little while back i got summoned off a mono at the pool of stars at celestia i was confused about this but was too annoyed to bug it at the time, just wondering if anyone else had this happen
Kaervas2005-11-25 08:59:25
My Shallach demesne is actually gone now, not like I need it anymore anyway.
silimaur2005-11-25 15:08:34
