Ok everyone keeps telling me so i would like a nice solid awnser maybe someone can gvie a log so i can get an understanding. What is a good level to start going into the catacombs?

You need to be able to survive 2k+ hits sometimes, hidden random afflictions, from sensitivity by breaking arms/legs, to paralys and stupidity. And blackout too.
And almoust all there are aggressive, and they move around. And garshades are just plain pain! Leech attack, you need luck to kill them or they will be healing themselfs before you will be able to kill them.
So in general you need to be able to handle all afflictions and have enought health to tank 2 gargs for few secons when you will be trying to get out of this room. Unless you have 6k health and can tank 2 of them.

You also need to be transcendant in hiding from Magnagorans while in there.

I was told that you need to see a critical hit everytime you attack something before its safe to go down there.

Psh. I heard it's actually full of fluffy kittens, and magnagorans just say that scary stuff because they love the kittens and don't want anyone else to see their cute, fluffy kittens and i like kittens.

Catacombs is pretty damn tough, if you don't watch where you're going you can run into 5+ aggros that can kill you pretty damn fast with paralysis/blackout/steal eq/balance. I wouldn't suggest touching it unless you can handle Astral with ease.

I'd say, you can go down there with ALOT of risk if you can kill a gorgog singlehandedly. If you can stand up toe to toe with a gorgog (never run) and handle afflictions well it's time for Catacombs.
Of course, this is only if you're a Mag or at least didn't harrass them any time in your life and have no plans on killing Ur'Deads.

Can take a gorgog, and 500 health away from 6k. But the whole not harassing mags is what kills me. I have kinda made it an ocupation to annoy the hell out of them and kill as many as possible. And I am not sure daevos likes me too much and hes always down there sooo looks like astral and gorgogs for me

I can take a room full of gorgogs no problem, but still don't go to the catacombs. I'd say when 5 astral creatures at once are easy for you, then maybe catacombs is good.

It depends a lot on your curing. Astral creatures, with the exception of scorpions, don't afflict with much. Gar'dead afflict you all over the place (including passive afflictions), and combined with their 2k hits, it's quite nasty. I'd reccomend lvl 80 or at least 5.5k health with good curing, as well as permission from the Ur'Guard- it's much easier than being hunted upon entrance.

I prefer bashing the Gorgogs/Merians to the Catacombs any day of the week - Gorgogs hurt too much for what they are worth bashingwise, and with the Gorgogs/Merians you get 5k+ gold and the experience for the two quests as well as killing 25 gorgogs at the 1-200 gold a pop, 30+ merians at 60-150 gold a pop.

Yea, gorgogs/merians are nice but for someone who need exp catacumbs are better.

You have level 3 magic resistance. That makes you perfect against gorgogs. Now, I am not sure with what the things in the catas attack, but I believe it's cold, no?

Gorgogs do heat damage. I'm positive that I take less when I have a volcano.

They have their fire room attack, i think their electric one as well, i'm not sure it's electric, well it's the one that makes you smell, their normal punching, and setting you on fire.
