I'm not sure that it specifies, so, does lipread work on tells while you're deaf as well? It makes sense to work on says, but I'm not sure if it works on everything else. It'd be nice to hear tells such as, "I want to donate 200k to you", "Do a large forging order for me", or "This is Estarra, you broke something again".

If it doesnt, then the upside is that you wont hear "Too bad, no 200k for you." either happy.gif

No, just says in the same room.
Narsrim2005-12-02 17:06:21
Lipread will allow you to hear says and aetherwaves while deaf. This doesn't include tells.
Kaervas2005-12-02 17:08:36
Lipread kicks ass, shame there isn't a skill or arti that lets you hear tells while deaf, it's annoying when someone's talking to you in tells while you're bashing eagles or something.

Or, "I need a tes target" .... "Anyone?"....."Hello? I need a tes target."....."Please, someone go to Celestia so I can tesseract", while someone is sitting on Celestia telling them that they can be the target. doh.gif

Lipread makes no sense at all. You can hear says and aetherwaves while deaf, but tells aren't included.

Well that's nuts... I can see says only, or everything, but not says and aetherwaves.

It's troublesome like that.

Logically, deafness shouldn't stop tells and aetherwaves, but yells, shouts and says (and for says, you'd have lipread).

TELLSOFF while bashing, with a returnmsg that says "I'm deaf, go away."
Morik2005-12-02 17:18:34
CLANS.
Terenas2005-12-02 17:22:44
Oh yeah, forgot. Not guild or cts, you can still hear clantells or gnt though, but that might something different altogether.

Lipread should allow you to hear someone even if there is wind. It doesn't make any sense that you can hear people with it while you are deaf but not if some stupid wind is blowing.

but then windtalk would be useless!

Not everyone has lipread, or?

I wasn't being serious tongue.gif
infact I always found it strange that lipread doesn't work in windy areas
Unknown2005-12-02 22:35:30
Well... not really, lipread would allow one person to understand what that person is saying, doesn't windtalk make it so everyone understands what your saying, like your not affected by wind?

Yes, it allows you to speak over the wind.
