I was thinking of Order Powers that might come in handy for all orders. I came up with this:
-ShrineFlow
HELP SHRINEMOVE
Yada yada
By calling upon the will of one's divine, they can move immediately to a place where a sacred shrine is standing. In order for this power to take place, the shrine must have been recently harmed by desanctification.
Example:
Shrinesight shows the following:
1. A large shrine at "Two work benches"
2. A large shrine at "Upon a quiet hill"
3. A large shrine at "Twisting corridors"
(Order): A heraldic figure screams, "Someone is harming a shrine at "Two work benches."
Player A travels to "Upon a quiet hill" and calls upon the power of SHRINEMOVE.

Ooooohh!!! I -love- that idea! It gives those of the playerbase who only really get into Order Conflict something to well...use and enjoy. Seems logical to me.
Nice one Marina!

I'd like to see some order powers that aren't tied to shrines. Just small things you can pop out for some minor utility here and there. The only shrine powers I've ever seen used have been worldburn, and the time I threw up some mana regen just because I could, in Achaea.
Also, make different Gods give different powers, not just a different order of the same powers.

Already in works according to Haj/Lis.
Acrune2005-12-05 02:02:24
Yup, and this exact idea has been suggested at least twice, I think. Heh.
Joli2005-12-05 02:11:56
Unique powers would be neat and it would add more flavor to being in the order.. (Not like we need it. )
Unknown2005-12-05 06:39:43
They are? Keep the ideas coming. the idea of the different order powers pertaining to the given diety.
Verithrax2005-12-05 06:42:04
Custom Order powers would be nice. Maybe Isune could have an Order power that would grant Order members wings, allowing them to fly and (For the sake of non-suckyness and non-redundancy) sweep people off the ground, dropping them to break both legs?
Narsrim2005-12-05 06:44:34
Oooh! Hajamin shrine power:
Constant transfix.
"The golden light catches your eyes and you can do nothing but stare in wonder."

Elcyrion's should be constant peace.
The gale winds blow at you, forcing you to float in mid-air and stopping all aggressive movement.

Joli2005-12-05 07:01:16
Why would Isune's be aggressive? I can understand giving the ability to fly.. but I doubt she would want you tossing people around.
Elcyrion's would either be something to grace yourself for a few moments or teleport, like the rippling air thing he does.

I seem to be in the minority, but I don't like this skill. While it makes defending shrines very easy, consider it from the point of view of someone trying to take down a hostile shrine in a key location.
You defile once (which autodeclares on every order member present) and then every single order member online can instantly teleport to you. I don't know many people who could survive that, even assuming no-one worldburns.

What about this:
BESEECH ISUNE FOR DIVINEWINGS
FLY
WRAP WINGS
FLAP WINGS AT
Calling upon he powers of the Aesthete, you are granted a pair of divine falcon-like wings, which can be used to fly. Alternatively, you can wrap them around your body for defense, or flap your wings at someone, forcing him to be helplessly enraptured by your beauty.
BESEECH ELCYRION FOR WINDFORM
GUST
VANISH TO
VANISH TO FULCRUX
REFORM
The Erudite grants you the form of the winds, making you immune to attacks; while in windform, you constantly regenerate mana and health, and cannot attack, except by using wind to throw the unenlightened away from Elcyrion's hallowed ground. This power also allows you instantaneous transportation to any shrine of Elcyrion, and to His Fulcrux. However, within this form you cannot leave Elcyrion's holy ground.
BESEECH HAJAMIN FOR GOLDENLIGHT
ENLIGHTEN
ENLIGHTEN
The Golden Lord provides you with His Golden Light, allowing you to improve the power of your weapons, and make your enemies more vulnerable to them.

Given I have to deal with defiled shrines daily, you just don't understand. People who really want to take down a shrine do so with gold. In under 45 seconds, you can take down a shrine. Even if I get to a shrine and worldburn, ther are a lot of people who will still have plenty of time to finish it off... it would be nice to worldburn and poof up there if only because you can immediately start re-sanctifying.

Isune and Haji's look good, but I still don't think Elcyrion would give his order members an ability that would harm another person in any shape or form. I like the windform though. That would be neat. I can see it now, "Look at me! I look like You!"

I'm all for those custom ones, as long as Shikari's has something to do with tattoo's *nod* Having custom powers which actually do something is great, it actually gives something good from being in a order, i mean you can offer to anyone to get favours, nothing really different from being in the order or not.
Narsrim2005-12-05 07:56:53
Aside from this, what about something small but spiffy for the Order that's not related to a shrine? Like Elcryion's Order gets an Influence bonus, Hajamin/Shikari get a damage bonus, Lisaera/Auseklis/Viravain get some foresty bonus, etc.
Being associated with a god > not being associated with a god.
Being associated with a god > not being associated with a god.
Unknown2005-12-05 08:00:16
The order power idea would be great, but instead of just having it at the shrine/fulcrux have it be able to be activated at the shrines/fulcrux but works anywhere after that, which means it wont be a viable running away tactic like ghost. You'll need to have balance, eq, full mana, health, ego.
Neltharoth2005-12-05 08:16:00
I support custom order powers, makes it much more interesting than orders in other IRE games. To be honest, current order powers seem quite boring and I seriously doubt I would ever use them if I was a high rank in any order.
But the divine themselves should be discussing among themselves and coming up with their custom powers if this idea comes to pass. Players should have no say in devising them...
