(Serenwilde): Carolan says, "So does training other people give you karma, or
what?"
That's really an excellent idea, I think. though a bit abusable, maybe. But it still seems like a good idea.
Please?

My opinion? No - everything that can be potentially abused in the teaching system should not go there. Imagine something like this:
(annonymous GNT) Jimmybob says, "Okay I learnt my lessons from, what's next?"
(annonymous GNT) Yhprum says, "No! You were supposed to learn from me you * , I have 3 karma curses to remove! Forget your lessons and learn again or I'll outguild you & lay the smackdown, sunshine."
And by writting this, I just realised that the novice really can forget the skills without any lesson loss and learn them again. So, no - too easy to abuse, and if make rewards for teaching anything more than marginal, novices will feel guilty for not learning from other players (even if there weren't any around when they required teaching), and the teachers will feel angry for the same reason.
I think that GFs are enough of a reward to people who teach a lot - in fact, it's the easiest way a non-fighter can upgrade their rank in the guild, in my opinion.

I highly doubt that would happen. What are the chances you find yourself alone in your guild with a novice, and has the power to outguild, and is enough of a jerk to do that to a novice? If you try it when you're not alone, you'd just get punished for it.

It's not as though the newbie knows who could outguild.
That said, these kind of paranoid stories really aren't that helpful when we have a whole lot of stuff in the game that could (but doesn't) get abused.

I like the idea actually.. I mean you are -supposed- to up your skill by training but.. was it Chade? who once said you only gain like 1% or so if you train them really long?
