I know that a bunch of books have been written in the past using pre-existing worlds and ideas as a basis to start with. And I was wondering what IRE and the Lusternia staff had to say about using Lusternia as a basis to write a large story or book, and what they'd want if it happened to be good enough to publish. What are the rules you guys would have down and stuff about that... Lusternia has so much depth already semi-created, all kinds of story's could be told to fill in extremely small gaps, like the era after the Elder gods left and before D'Varsha became a Vernal, there could be countless stories made about that time that would be really good reads if written propperly.
Just curious.
I think this has been asked before, but I couldn't find the post.

10% of the royalties to IRE, the rest to Raezon. Just send me a signed form in triplicate and go for it!

I want movie rights, and veto rights in choosing who the part of Jacquin will be.

Nicole Kidman should play Estarra's part. *hums* And Angelina Jolie would play Isune's part.
Viravain2005-12-15 03:46:42
Poor Isune.
Suhnaye2005-12-15 03:52:15
*Laughs* I dunno... Lookin at Estarra's Avatar... She might prefer the lady who plays Magonagal for her part... Hmm... Not sure...
I'd really prefer to write something from prior to the vernal wars... From like one of the lost cities or something... I'll think about it anyways.

Prior to the Vernal Wars was just a bunch of people running around trying not to get their asses eaten by hungry Soulless. Don't think they even had any sort of 'magic' back then, as there were no nexuses or knowledge of the planes.
Suhnaye2005-12-15 03:58:48
The Soulless destroyed the cities and whatnot slowly. And just because power and the planes didn't exist didn't mean other forms of magic didn't exist, how else did D'varsha create the first Nexus if there wasn't any magic to form it with or charge it with?

Yeah, there was time for several civilizations to form, so I suppose you could focus on one of them. And without power any magic they had would be very primitive; my theory is that a very select few had learned that there were other forces present in the world, and D'varsha was the first one to discover how to tap into them. Thus, the first nexus.
Even without using actual 'power', Mages and such still need a connection to their element. Hence only Magnagorans being able to become Geomancers, or only Celestians being Celestines. Their link to their nexus grants them their strength. Even once you go rogue I imagine the link remains, though you can't actually draw.
