It would be interesting if, for a small amount of credits, we could buy an entirely custom object that can't be made by a tradeskill (Staves, musical instruments, toys, gauntlets, and so on.). They would cost only slightly more credits than a custom piece of jewelry, and would be nothing more than props; they'd have no practical use. However, it would be possible to attach jewelry runes to them, and then enchant them. So you could have, say, a Harp of Celestial Music that regenerates health and is enchanted with a Beauty enchantment, for example; or a Walker's Staff that is just a nice prop to wave about in meetings with the Walkers. They wouldn't decay, and would reset to their owners, like any artifact. Kind of like a pet, it's a RP prop that has a little bit of practical use.
Alternatively, you could just increase the amount of designs availiable to jewellers and artisans - What about staves, that are like wands but hold more charges, and musical instruments, that can be enchanted to cause magical effects when played?

Also, what about customising staffs, cudgels, sickles and athames? Why only the warriors get to carry around unique weapons?

I've always assumed that as long as it's not a major combat/economy thing, you can do pretty much whatever you want, if you're willing to pay enough for it.

It also can't affect quests or geography. Essentially, it can't have any effect.
