I noticed that Ethelon has been kind enough to make a free system on Mushclient, but is their a similar project to the Achaean Curing Project (ACP) for Lusterina?
Ashteru2005-12-19 09:16:28
What's that?
Kharne2005-12-19 09:24:18
Oh its a basic defence system, with healing and affliction triggers etc in it for Achaea

Yes its written by the same guy, however its not free over here (30cr I think) and its a little out of date, you would need to speak to him about it. There is howevere an attempt at the moment to start something free that is similar.

He hasn't been around here in a while. He was thinking about open-sourcing it, but nothing came of it. I have it, and it's a very nice start, if you can understand how to code in the first place. It keeps me going while I slowly build my own. The way I code, it's taking forever, and I keep starting over from scratch because I don't like how I designed it.

Wasn't there a thread like ...yesterday asking about this, where the guy actually posted about it?
I have a feeling it might have been in one of the half-asleep delusions I was having last night but I'm not sure, it might actually have happened.

It wasn't a delusion. I still play Lusternia regularly, but I only get to play for an hour or three at a time. Shorlen just misses me too much.
There is a newly started open source project on SourceForge, dubbed the Lusternia Combat System (short name 'lcp' though). It's not officially created by me, and they're not denying that it's going to be a different project with different goals from the ACP. I believe there are plans for auxiliary scripts not directly related to combat, as well as offense stuff. I'm very curious to see what they come up with, personally.
The LCP I have is somewhat out of date, but it still keeps me going and no one who has purchased it (even lately) has ever complained. If anyone's interested in my scripts, please contact me via e-mail. I'll be glad to write custom scripts or discuss features of my combat system with you.

The link to the LCP is www.sourceforge.net/project/lcp btw. There isn't really much to it at the moment, more ideas bouncing around between a few people of what exactly to add. The first actual usable version of it should be released sometime next month (hopefully).
I am hesitant to release a full version with the advent of CMUD, and the overall structure of the project will likely change. I wasn't going to announce the existance of this for a while, but I see no harm in anyone knowing anyways.
Feel free to email me from the project site if you want to help out.
PS: The Lusternia Combat System, shouldn't be confused with the actual LCP. Two different projects, and to different concepts. I used the LCP project name more as a Freudian Slip when I submitted the request.

I really need to re-write my LCP, and I've been doing so very slowly over the last few months. However, when CMUD was announced, I debated if I really wanted to write a system I would probably re-write yet again. I'm really looking forward to the XML format and improved settings. Zugg has been listening to suggestions very well, and things I've wished for in zMUD for a few years already will finally be possible in CMUD.

oooh xml.. CMUD eh? *goes visit zuggsoft once again*
o_O .... multiple status windows? compiled scripts? *begins to hyperventilate*

I am so looking forward to the new CMUD. Zugg has been great with listening to suggestions and like Larkin, many things I have suggested and wished for will be coming to pass in the new CMUD.

OOO. Besides the having to pay again (not a big deal), it looks awesome. If database variables become less of a bitch to work with, I'll be in heaven.
Unknown2005-12-23 07:34:36
maybe we'll even get *gasp* array variable types...
Kharne2005-12-23 10:02:55
Whats Cmud about?
Sylphas2005-12-23 12:27:24
zMUD XP, with a prettier name. Basically, zMUD with so many upgrades it's a new product.
Shryke2005-12-23 23:05:39
they just want you to pay again, so they made it really cool so you would
