I just had to share this.
Note that I'm up on the Peak, just before reincarnating.
Balizar tells you, "May I ask what you are reincarnating into? This is ~very~ serious, just want to check up on you."
You tell Balizar, Midnight Guardian, "Well at first I considered Elfen, but now I'm positive! Merian."
Balizar tells you, "GODS NO!!!!!!!"
Balizar tells you, "NO NO NO!!!!!"
You tell Balizar, Midnight Guardian, "I'm reincarnating into a Viscanti, Balizar. *roars with laughter*."

I enjoyed it quite a bit, but I had a number of IC reasons Vauraugli wanted to reincarnate. Not to mention the level 3 slower eq was wearing a little thin...
I suppose now whenever he finds something glazed with honey he'll get a little nostalgic.

I had a tae'dae guardian a long while ago.. the bashing was so good, I didn't even notice the penalty to eq. But I imagine for PvP it might be a bit more noticeable and irksome, so I can understand if you plan on getting more involved in that.

Bashing GOOD? Tough, sure, but hella slow, crap int. Good compared to if you picked, say, a serpent on Achaea or something, though, sure.

Magnagora lists Spectral paladins as like lvl 60+ bashing.. I was able to start bashing them around lvl 30. And getting 20-30% per kill more than made up for my attacks being a little slower. From what I saw, int had very little effect on my damage.. like 1 attack at Rockeater-level health.. I took both a tae'dae nihilist and a viscanti nihilist to lvl 60ish, and the tae'dae bashed better hands down.

You've got some good points, but I find Vauraugli bashing much faster, and barely -ever- needing to sip mana. So, he doesn't have just over 4k health anymore, but I found it a fair trade for the speed increase and extra mental strength.
Also, with all the 'mana-below-half' instakills, having slightly over 2k mana at level 65 just seems a little too risky to me.

Once I got a Perfection enchantment, I don't remember ever having to sip for mana very often. Hm.
And true, the 'mana-below-half' instakills could pose problems - mainly against a Dreamweaver I'd guess, mainly because if a tae'dae is awake, they sip for a huge precentage of their max, thanks to their sip bonus.
However, I think the tae'dae's speed penality would be more noticable anyway in PvP, like I said, so Viscanti is probably the better choice if you do plan to fight other players.

I'm a druid bashing as an Igasho, almost same stat as Tae'dae...No problem with powerful mobs, very tanky...the problem is mana and willpower...even with perfection and greenman, they always get drained...esp willpower..well at night time i got no problem with mana coz of moon..but willpower, always sucked out of me..can bash only less than 3 hours straight...then meditate for an hour to recharge at full willpower...makes me wanna get back to elfen
