Asmoth2005-12-25 05:15:42

No, heartstop or kill yourself to leave the arena.
Manjanaia2005-12-25 11:15:06
It would make a lot more sense to just be able to surrender... killing oneself isn't great RP :\\ even if it is in the arena.

Sipping crotamine is fun. (Or saxitin for sunallergy. Did you know it kills you if you go long enough without curing it - like a minute or something? I didn't realize until Daevos gave it to me and I ran out of liniment. After a while, it stops damaging and starts paralyzing, and then finally it kills you.)

I didn't know it started paralyzing, interesting. I know on Achaea it killed in 5 shots.

It seems to damage about 10ish times or so, then it starts paralyzing you (really really quickly too, I was paralyzed about half the time even with trans discipline, though that was also a function of me not having the trigger line) and finally it kills you after about 10 of those. It was pretty cool.

Actually, it did the same thing in Achaea that it does in Lusternia. I found out the hard way long ago when I tested it to get all of the symptom messages. It eventually started paralyzing me and finally I died. I was shocked, and pissed, to say the least.

Hmm. I guess I was misinformed then. I remember when I was doing the druid training thing (there were three paths, I only remember the combat one now, you had to find all the common afflictions and name their effects) and the serpent who helped me with it said to make sure I did whatever the cure was (ginseng) before the fifth one 'cause it'd kill you else.
Xenthos2005-12-26 01:57:27
Well, does it kill faster at noon? I remember the one (and only) time I've died to sunallergy, never got the paralysis part of it. I didn't even know it did paralyze.

30 seconds, last time I smashed myself with it.

If a surrender command was implemented people would start arena deffing even more.

Yes, and get peaced and their RP deducted, great time for all.

Maybe have the SURRENDER command only be usable if a loyal denizen has cried out on CT in the past 3 minutes?

But you lose defences if you lose in an arena. Isn't it the same with heartstop? Would be with surrender.

Pah, then they'd just get their friends positioned outside the Arena to kick a city/commune-loyal denizen.
Surrender, if implemented, should strip defenses, but then what would be the point of heartstop?

For kicks? Daganev used it to keep attackers from getting xp from killing him. Too bad the loss from heartstop exceeds that of dying to another person.

Liching.
Murphy2005-12-27 13:32:13
Often, i'll use heartstop when i have lichdom up, to stop people getting the deathsight "murphy has been slain by the might (cough) of somerandomnoobwhogottheluckyshotin" and also to throw people off with highlighting who dies and also being able to run away from lich.
I also take heartstop if i lich and am about to die off plane, i don't mind the extra loss so long as my asailant's do'nt get any XP from me, and end up behind when i come back and rearange their heads later.
