One thing that has bugged me ever since I started playing was that only GR3 and above can read the guild news, whereas it was freely accessed in Achaea. I understand the reason might be that it is a lot easier to join a guild here and it might prove useful for the guild to have a place for more vital information to be posted.
In the Serenguard I've noticed that we don't use the guild board for anything and have had to purchase a clan for us to communicate among all members. I mean, currently we have 343 posts in our guild clan board, but only 57 in the actual guild board. And often many members forget to inquire about joining the guild clan so they miss out on all the news for a long time.
Does any other guilds actually use their guild board, if not, I was wondering if we could make guild boards available to all full guild members.

Unless its changed since I was there, its not freely accessed in achaea. Either way, not many posts are made to the full guildmember board, except maybe about elections or some policy changes. Would be nice if it was just accessable to all non-novices, and we could rid ourselves of the pesky guild clans.

I despise our guild clan. I had to quit it for want of space for a Serenwilde leadership clan, and I have a feeling all the damn news is going on in there when it should be on our guild board. Change!

So .. get people to GR3?
Maybe treat GR1-GR3 as less of hard-to-achieve-ranks and more of probation?

If you're suggesting we give out random GFs just to raise people to GR3 to read the guild board, then that's rather a stupid suggestion.

Not sure if this would be possible, but instead of changing it, can we make it that the guild boards are accesible to all gr1+, but only those gr3+ are able to post on the boards? Which would mean there would still be a point to getting gr3, but it would be easier for the guild to write news instead of having to put 500K into it.

In game solution?

The GR3 requirement exists so people can't make alts in the guild, sit around somewhere for 24 hours, and then read up all your news. Most guilds see GR3 as something that should be easily attainable, and have simple programs to get people there fast, not random GFs, but apprenticeship programs of a sort.
In Achaea, novicehood only ended when the guild wanted to end it. Also, most guilds has a probation program, where you had to take tests to get off of probation. In Lusternia, GR1 is like Achaean novicehood, and GR2 is like Achaean probation, or at least that is how I always saw it.

Heh, you haven't been there in a while. They killed guilds. Now they have houses which can contain people from all sorts of different classes. But that was after they decided that they wanted to be able to let people choose their class without belonging to a guild, and would be able to learn the third skill and could only learn so much until they were a certain level, 40, I think. Not sure if that's exactly the way it works, but oh well.

Three class ranks - apprentice, journeyman and full member or something stupid like that. Based off levels... you can only learn up to like, virtuoso with journeyman, but once you have level 60, you can embrace class or something and learn as much as you like.
ie, level 60 = instaclass
ie, level 60 = instaclass

Level 40, actually.
I'd like to see guild boards get more use too. I posted on the Hartstone board maybe 3 times total, and everything else went on the clan board.

Ideally, the entire organization system would be fully customizable and you would be able to define at which rank you want people to read the news.
This being said, I remember when I made it to Secretary in the Aquamancers and got GFed until I was GR15, because that's how it always had been done.
