Within a ruined water temple.
Within this looming and grand space you cannot but comprehend the cataclysm that
has decimated this once peaceful temple. Towering, rather ambiguous merian
statues stand in a archaic relief, supporting the floor to ceiling at all
cardinal points, posed in figurative gestures embracing enormous opalescent
icons of pearl and gold outstretched as if guarding the space within. Several of
the exits lead into the center of the space in an elegant circular quatrefoil of
curvaceous points. The cavern ceiling is a now collapsed and fragmented
colonnade of elaborate bronze and gold frond relief. Interestingly enough, one
of the heads from these large monumental statues has plummeted and rolled into
this basin possibly from a deep upturning of this mountain. Elaborate detail has
been intrinsically preserved even within its tarnish on this magnificent scale
of merian proportions save for a decimated nose. All this pales in comparison to
the crystalline waters that encompass this depression, brimming with potent
energies ebbing against the monumental surface. It is from here the only light
source is originated, stretching across the deep cavernous walls, pillars, and
the now ruined constructions.

Ok, you didn't actually try to kill him, you flung cards inbetween aeon flings. Did you have your angel with anorexia? Mix in moon cards for stupidity and other effects like that. Keep aeoning, don't aeon hangedman aeon hangedman show gem hangedman aeon. String your attacks to keep him hindered, if you aeon and he doesn't sip quicksilver -(you can watch and see it) - transfix, aeon, then transfix again. Do you have soulless? You never worked on any instant kill like you should of. You should of thrown in other strats like started inquisition, try for a quicken combo, uh generally anything. I never seen you start a bit of it. What did you have your angel invested with?

Kneel/Stupidity/Something.

I noticed that Aslaran speed is great when it comes to stacking aeon tarot on someone. Can time that perfectly with the angel too.

He can't do any sacraments stuff like inquisition, judgement on Ekard because Ekard is a sacraments user.

I think (though don't hold me to it)

he should of tried soulless (possibly absolve)

Should definitely have gone for absolve with quickened amissio. While I can understand wanting to pin him down so he can't attack you, you should be doing that offensively. Make him so that he doesn't want to attack you because he needs to cure up and not die to you.

Put timeslip up way before battle. You were off-eq when the battle started from putting it up, and Ekard was already hitting you. When the timeslip is struck, web the target.

Use Wrath on your angel. Invest stupidity/kneel/anorexia, mainly. Deviate if necessary.

You'll never damage kill Ekard. Go for quickened amissio.

Use Enigma if you have it, start off with double aeon timed with anorexia, then hangedman/aeon, start rubbing soulless.

Why?

If you see someone healing aeon consistently, then try stacking it with stupidity, anorexia, or both. I cure aeon fine but when it's combined with those it can take longer, which gives you time to heal, prepare soulless (if you have it), drain mana, etc. It seems to me like the main thing with guardian combat is that you really need to screw someone up before going for the kill. An example is Wrack - half mana and bound? That's not likely unless they're already pretty messed up.

rauros, you did great. Ekard /hurts/. But you weren't stacking it right. What you wanna do is something like:

* invest angel with angel/stupidity
* bring up wrath
* use hangedman to slow him down
* use aeon when you know the angel will hit: so yes, come up with something to tell you when the angel is going to hit. I have a timer which counts down for my Celestine alt (who I need to buy credits for, thats right.)
* You want to get the person with aeon, stupidity/anorexia. Eating reishi/sipping phlegmatic is easy in two seconds. But if they have to cure stuff before they cure anorexia/asthma - thats when things get fun.
* have trueheal?

* then you can choose: either go for hinder hinder hinder hinder RUB SOULLESS hinder hinder hinder RUB SOULLESS ... until you're ready to fling
* when the person is having aeon/anorexia/stupidity stacked, and you'll know when you sneak this in, go quickening, then web/amissio/amissio/amissio/etc/absolve, or web/cosmicfire/cosmicfire/cosmicfire, etc.

oh, and:

* bash to level 80
* maintain life/knowledge blessings.

Best invest set for absolve is anorexia stupidity powersink.

All three afflictions help to lock in Aeon, powersink drains mana in addition to that, and stupidity anorexia can steal sips even outside of Aeon.

If Ekards curing is anything like mine your gonna have to use Stupidity cause im able to get out of a anorexia/aeon easily. Try to move your parry around and use stancing other then that just do what Morik said and you should do fine. Also your not hitting soulless on anyone with tumble unless you hit blackout at the right time so they can see it.

I'd go vapours over powersink. Powersinks mana drain isn't anything world shattering, I am sure there is a better invest.

I have to say thet Rauros hindering was damn good. Noticed how few times i attacked only and few of them in paried body parts.

Its only part of log i was annoyed how hard it was for me to attack him and i had only 1 power at that time so no lunge was avaible for me or other power skills. After i tried to kill him with rapiers, he healed that find i decided to go for damage. Switched for broadswords with ibululu.

And yea time aeon with anorexia/stupidity.

Since we have nothing that actually stacks, those who can cure well are very hard to kill as a guardian. Especially if they're high level. Not like with warriors who stack deepwounds on you no matter how good your curing is.

Well you could say soulless stacks in a way, but since good fighters won't be caught for long enough to fling it it doesn't matter.

Good hindering will give you time for curing.

IIRC, Stigmata turns health into mana, right? You don't want that when fighting a warrior.

The strength of powersink is that it's very hard to detect and cure, and if left uncured it can leave a noticeable dent in your mana.

The weakness of vapors is that it's very easy to detect, it gives a blackout right after hitting so there's really no excuse to get hit by the periodic blackout.

If you don't diag every once in a while vs a guardian, you shouldn't be fighting them. Its drain is maybe 100 once in a while(I will post a log later), a sparkle basically keeps it from any amazing effect.

Powersink drains about 200 mana randomly - on 5, 10 or 15 seconds intervals.
I think. Or it was spawn with this timing, not sure now.
