Time
Time seeks to kill
He savors death
He is the one
The stealer of breath
Perhaps if one runs
With the speed of light
He can beat the sun
And prolong this night
But then, of course,
Time would be waiting--
Waiting to win
The one endeavor--
To endure forever
And can forever
Exist without time?
Or are their fates
Infused and entwined?
And what about never?
Would he survive?
Time sweeps all
He wins the game
And while all is changing
Remains the same
Time is all--this poem, this pen
He is the who, the where, the when
Time seeks to brith,
Seeks to plenish the earth
And though he mandates death
He is the one who offers breath.
Time seeks to kill
He savors death
He is the one
The stealer of breath
Perhaps if one runs
With the speed of light
He can beat the sun
And prolong this night
But then, of course,
Time would be waiting--
Waiting to win
The one endeavor--
To endure forever
And can forever
Exist without time?
Or are their fates
Infused and entwined?
And what about never?
Would he survive?
Time sweeps all
He wins the game
And while all is changing
Remains the same
Time is all--this poem, this pen
He is the who, the where, the when
Time seeks to brith,
Seeks to plenish the earth
And though he mandates death
He is the one who offers breath.
