Hi everyone,

I thought it might be useful for our wonderful, overworked admin (and anyone else who is interested) to have a quick summary of some of the main points and issues raised on the Forums over the past week or so. I haven't included everything, just some of the potentially interesting discussions.

Hope it helps. smile.gif

==========================================

Week ending the 8th of January:

New Ideas

Idea: Removing champion artifact bonuses
Summary:
Geb suggested that special properties on all champion artifacts be removed entirely, aside from the rescue ability. This was well supported by the majority of responses, though the thread progressed to offering alternative bonuses for champions, and later some distinctions between the archetypal artifacts.
Full thread: Champion Artifacts

Idea: Limitations to avoid innocence abuse
Summary:
Mirk offered ideas to stop novices abusing their grace in annoying other organizations. These included quest mobiles refusing to do damaging quests for graced novices or teleportation to graced novices in enemy territory being blocked. Folkien and Mirk refined the idea futher to suggest that novices with innocence be blocked from entering enemy territory, and pondered if the quality should be stripped when stepping into certain places.
Full thread: innocence, and limiting abuse of it

Idea: New Elfen specialization
Summary:
Verithrax suggested that Elfen who had been drawn to the cities should receive specialization boosts, including higher charisma than High Elfen, with lower strength. Few posted in support of the idea, though the underlying reasons were appreciated.
Full thread: City Elfen

Idea: Concepts for a stealthy archetype
Summary:
Devris posted that he was hoping to see a stealthy, spying class introduced that would be distinct to the Serpent-types from other games. Full thread: Stealth-type class?

Idea: Lusternian online store

Full thread: Aetolia has one! also lusternia wear!

Idea: Kegs dispensing drinks

Roh asked that the exact amount of lessons spent in each skill be visible. A few responded to point out that there were other ways of tracking this, and that it might not be necessary.
Full thread: Lessons learned.

Idea: Organizational artifact repositories
Summary:
Shaeden suggested that each organisation get an artifact repository, which could allow them to be used by citizens at need. Various methods were proposed of adding artifacts to the collection, and various methods of restricting access. Reactions were mixed, some alternative implementations were suggested by others.
Full thread: Artifact Dens... rooms... storage... things

Idea: Non-alcoholic beverages

Full thread: drink categories

Full thread: Guild News

Idea: Influencing mobiles & debate
Summary:
Soll thanked the creators of influence, and suggested two things: that influence battles anchor the mobile in the room, and that you shouldn't be able to be debated while influencing a mobile. The second suggestion was predominantly rejected by players, the first very well-received.
Full thread: Run away from Influencers.

Idea: Figurines and tradeskills
Summary:
Mirk suggested that poisons could be added into figurines to add to the battle complexity. Various suggestions followed involving many of the other tradeskills offering bonuses to the little guys. Hajamin posted to say more such things were coming.
Full thread: figurines+poison=?

Idea: Breakable items
Summary:
Mirk pointed out that objects are supposed to break if dropped from a great height, and suggested that it would be interesting if certain items actually did this, perhaps with minor room effects such as bleeding from glass shards. General player feedback was positive.
Full thread: Breakable things

Idea: Remote assess for Healers
Summary:
Suhnaye brought up the fact that farheal in the Healing skillset severely needed the ability to discern how much health a remote target had in order to be useful. It was mentioned that this had been envoyed previously, but had not been implemented for some reason.
Full thread: Farheal assess

Idea: Area proposal for Ethereal

Full thread: Tosha Pits.

Appreciation and Thanks

Laneth created a lovely thread that acknowledges some of the minor details that make Lusternia the wonderful place that it is. Some posted their little joys, others to follow soon.
Full thread: Little things about Lusternia

Reason: Hajamin's contributions to Lusternia

Rashidat began a kind thread asking what players could do to help the remaining admin after Hajamin's departure. Lisaera confirmed that the best thing was simply not to cause excess problems or stress for the staff during the transition.
Full thread: How can we help?

Reason: The new world library

Concerns and Issues

Issue: Honours line length
Summary:
Nokraenom raised an issue with lengthy honours caused by the new enemy lines. He suggested condensing all enemy information into one line. Lisaera posted it had already been considered, and further changes may eventually arise.
Full thread: Org enemies and honors

Issue: Vitae causing more experience loss
Summary:
Avaer suggested that vitae could be relaxed to avoid problems on the outer planes. Kashim further added that an easier fix would be to have the order of resurrection changed, so transmigration/conglutination fire first.
Full thread: Relaxing vitae

Issue: Debating problems
Summary:
Continuing from previous discussions, more discontent with debating was voiced. Mostly this centred around defensive/offensive imbalances, though also repeat issues with chanters, forestal charisma and viscanti charisma emerged.
Full thread: Debate

Issue: Cubix fulcrux death
Summary:
Avaer complained that the cubix fulcrux should allow conglutination or be watched by Avenger. Mixed feedback was received, though most supported conglutination. Hajamin posted and seemed to imply nothing was required to change.
Full thread: Fulcrux avenger or conglut

Issue: Wildnodes feedback
Summary:
Along with other things, feedback on Wildnodes was received suggesting that insanity was relatively welcomed or at least accepted. Other comments on the game included cubixes perhaps being unfair during the event, and some classes having advantages in skill and location that tilted the field. The thread descended afterwards into complaints about which organizations had overactive players.
Full thread: Congratulations

Issue: Defenders gaining suspect
Summary:
Torak questioned the current manner in which defense is handled by the Avenger. He suggested that a defender should forfeit their suspect rights if they die to the original aggressor. Responses were mixed, quite a few equally unhappy and suggesting similar solutions.
Full thread: Declare/Defend system

Summary:

Full thread: Waves

Issue: Two-handed knight attacks
Summary:
Malicia began a thread discussing the problem of two-handed knights with runes, and the strength of their offense. A lot of debate ensued about whether a few-hit kill was acceptable given the hindering available in combat. General non-knight consensus appears to be that this is a real problem and needs to be reworked or at least investigated. Some however believe it is simply evidence of poor defensive strategy.
Full thread: Sweep/Assault/Cleave

Issue: Vision bugs at nexii
Summary:
Rauros posted regarding an ongoing problem with visions from a previous event being sent to players as they walked by their nexus. Although (I assume) it was bugged and known about for a week or so, players accepted that workloads were heavy at the current time.
Full thread: No more visions, please!

Issue: Nexus lag problems
Summary:
Raikas alerted others to a problem with Nexus in which it appears to slow down a lot, regardless of connection or computer. No answers from players were forthcoming, though many others had experienced the glitch. Another possible problem was mentioned regarding extra linebreaks in Nexus.
Full thread: Lag in Nexus

Issue: Gorgog quest problems
Summary:
Shadow began a complaint that snowballed regarding the Gorgog quest and its various intricacies. Some of the points which were echoed by others include the gorgogs interfering with novices primarily, and the ease with which it is achieved and the ease with which the counter-quest is blocked. Also raised was the absence of many similar anti-commune quests.
Full thread: gorgog quest

Issue: Thunderclap strength
Summary:
Malicia complained about the effectiveness of multiple thunderclaps, but responses were extremely volatile. On a related note - the visions are cured.

Excellent Idea. If you plan to do it weekly maybe just alter the first post each time so it does not get lost in the comment?
