I don't know if anything like this has been proposed before, or the like, but Rakor and I have come up with something.

It's basically a 'midbie' area, with (mostly) moderately powerful creatures. It has a few things newbies could survive, and a quest that only 'highbie' people could survive.

Lusternian Arctic Area (Up north...of the mountains. Avalanche reveals it?)

Animals:
Deer, rabbits, bobcats, wolves, sabretooth tigers, wooly mammoths, wooly rhinos, Ice Drake (breathes caustic ice?), yetis.

Denizens: Primitive people, live in caves or huts. Wear skins. See HUNTING

New Skill: Not really, but in Hunting...skinning, or something.

Quests:
Strengthen the Ice Drake: Feed it yeti corpses, and it grows in strength. Then it rampages across the land, terrorizing denizens.
Slaying the Ice Drake: Quest and reward given by primitive people.
Minor: Bring dead animals or their skins (worth more) to a primitive denizen.
Minor: Rescue an infant primitive denizen from a wolf den. Alternative: Feed it to a wolf.

Comments, criticism, suggestions, pizza?

Obviously the hard thing will be actually getting descriptions for all of these things, and the area, but it seems like a good idea for a new area, so here it is!

I want a frozen citadel of ice and steel, a fortress compound of sadistic Taurians!

I want Bolvangar or Svalbard!

What about sadistic, white-haired Igasho?

You'd be sadistic, too, if you were albino. mellow.gif

I'm sadistic anyways.

Yeah, me too...but that's beside the point.

I'm wondering if anything like this would ever be created within the next millenneum.

Solution: Next time mortal builder applications go up, apply. The chances that this idea will be implemented are very low. Look at all of Elryn's detailed descriptions. closedeyes.gif

Only problem I have with this is it reminds me too much of the other IRE games. I think they all have generic artic areas like this.

As has been stated multiple times by the administration, we are not Achaea and try very hard to do original things.

Perhaps there is some unique way to deviate on this theme?

Why dont we actually have an area which is the peaks of our mountain ranges, or 4 areas, with like wendigo's and such, and it's like snowing constantly, with high chances of blizzards, and a chance of blowing you down the mountain with you dont have some skill in environment?

I would love to see a new "Icy" area. It would give me an excuse to wear a fur lined coat and fur lined boats while out exploring.

An icy area with Igasho tribe would be cool!!

that would be perfect if they ever were to implement an igasho village!
or nomadic camp for igashos would probably be more accurate i'd think.
sounds good. hmm, lately allot of the ideas people have been having i've liked recently.

The Rienelm Tundra

Location: The northern most portion of the Basin, past the mountains.

Experience Level Range: Intermediate (Levels 61-80)

History: It has been long thought that past the mountains which guard the Basin of Life there has been nothing, no life or beacon of hope. While this is true, there has been some inaccurate reports pertaining to the environment. Outside the northern mountains lies a vast tundra region – which no form of vegetation grows or thrives. However, many carnivorous animals run rampant – breeding and keeping up high numbers, consuming each other to survive. Wandering aimlessly within this desolation are two tribes, one composed of Igasho while the other of Taurians. The Igasho, under the name of the Frostbone tribe and their leader Grobaha Frostbone, have recently settled within the centre tundra region forming a village – hoping to pull together to fight against the onslaught of animals. The Taurian tribe, identified as the Steelhorn Tribe under Kkarsh Steelhorn, have constructed a large ice citadel within an icecap to northern portion of the tundra. Unknown to the Taurian, this very icecap holds the misty form of Zenos, the Insubstantial, who because of the Taurians works has been able to use powerful magic to take hold of Kkarsh’s mind. Under an influenced tribal leader, the Steelhorn Tribe have slowly become far more sadistic and cruel – often raging raids against the small Frostbone Tribe in hopes to either dominate them, or destroy them to further the goals of Kkarsh.

Creatures:

Ice Drakes: Long ago created by some arcane means, Ice Drakes are unique beasts born of solid ice and snow. They usually are solitary creatures who bear slender bodies yet ravenous appetites. When locked in combat, they use their claws and teeth to rend their opponents along with an intense breath weapon of frigid air which can cause people to freeze in their tracks.

Yeti: Considered to be abominations of Igaso, these twisted creatures were perverted of their shard by the Soulless. They wield mighty strength like their non-tainted cousins however, are known to enter fits of rage, attacking any and all within their line of vision.

Rienelm Ice Tigers: Of the feline characterization, the ice tigers of the Rienelm Tundra are fierce carnivores which lurk within the snow to strike at their prey. They have two heads, each completely maddened with either hunger or domination of their singular body. Armed with claws and teeth, these mighty beasts have been known to tear even the most capable warriors to shreds.

Taurian Warmongers: The elite hunters of the Steelhorn Tribe, the Taurian Warmongers scout from miles away of their ice citadel to both kill the beasts of the tundra for food, and the Igasho of the Frostbone Tribe. They wield magic weaponry crafted of solid ice, which is as strong as steel and can cause their enemies to shiver in both fear and frost.

Noreen Wolves: White-pelted wolves which live deep within the Tundra, the Noreen species are ferocious creatures that have a bark that is equal to their bite. Succumbed to a bloodlust for food – the wolves ravage any living being for food.

Wraith: With Zenos being within the icecap of the Steelhorn Citadel, the Soulless One’s very essence has begun to materialize within the world. Unseen by some insane reasoning by the Taurians, the wraiths are powerful creatures which feed on both life energy and mental power to help their Lord. Some have been known to live outside the bounds of the Citadel – however, those are very few and usually the stronger.

More to come!
